Senator Kerry to go after McCain on the Senate floor next week!
At least according to this three page article appearing in NYO. All in all not a bad article. Some of it we could have done without though. I suppose this is to give it a "personal touch". Especially the references to the restroom and the two brownies and chocolate chip cookie he was eating.

"Mr. Kerry said that he plans to go after his friend and fellow Vietnam veteran John McCain on the floor of the Senate next week."

“I’m going to show how, when McCain says there is no option B—that all there is an option A, and that’s escalating—that he is absolutely dead wrong,” Mr. Kerry said, lowering his voice. “There is an option B.” Mr. Kerry rejected the notion suggested by Mr. McCain, that option B—which calls for the imminent withdrawal of American combat forces and a regional political conference—is tantamount to admitting defeat.

“That’s not where I would go—‘Have we lost the war, won the war?’—because the resolution of this is going to be in the diplomacy,” he said. “The war is not what this is about. This is about the civil struggle in Iraq.”

1. It was probably a good interview, but the writing does not show it.
It is unfortunately often the case with the Observer, whose articles are more often about snark than substance.

I have no real complaints with what Kerry says in this interview, except about Iran. I would hope the end game for Democrats and Republicans is not the same. Kerry is not a warmonger, as far as I understand it, but the GOP is.
