It is too hot, so I will get out of the kitchen

Which makes sense right now since school starts Tuesday.

I don't know if I got anywhere with the ideas, suggestion box thread, and I know I haven't added anything meaningful in a while, but all I can say is I am very, very glad I wasn't here in 2003 and early-middle of 2004. The vitriol is just too nasty, if not ugly for me to contribute right now. If I go into the Lion's den, here (not in here :)) and elsewhere, I will be bringing up 2004 all over again.

Since the end of 2004, I haven't stopped paying attention to issues that I care about and won't after a Democrat is elected president. I will still support the good senator, a candidate, and the Democrat nominee (SCOTUS of course), but I don't want to anyone to feel like I am being negative about the senator or any of the candidates.

I will contribute to anything if needed, but I may be in lurk mode, watching sports, reading and/or listening to music. Just until the dust settles.

And to those that may feel sad about the latest endorsement rumor, hopefully there will be a change of heart and come back for a visit.

Good luck to everyone!

1. Sometimes it's good to take a break, but don't be gone long!
Maybe I shouldn't have posted the endorsement thread. I was just surprised and thought folks ought to know, because it is being discussed elsewhere on the internets.

But, it hasn't actually happened and maybe it won't.

I have tried my best to avoid being negative about the candidates in here (I know I have failed at times, and I apologize to any I may have offended). I think it is best we try to avoid that type of discussion in this "haven", but it is going to come up and can't be avoided. And if/when JK does endorse, we need to talk about it.

What I most fervently hope is that if/when JK endorses, we all will respect his decision and if it disagrees with our own feelings about the candidates, at least try to understand the reasons he might have for making the choice that he does. I have been working hard on rehabilitating my opinions of certain candidates in case JK does surprise me and endorse one that I'm not too thrilled with.

I guess I should be clear about one thing though: ALL of the candidates have the same, HUGE, glaring flaw: not one of them is John Kerry.

It's tough to support any presidential candidate with such a flaw, but hey, someone's got to be president, and they're all better than any of the republicans.

Anyway good luck with school and don't stay away too long!

2. No, you're fine. Thanks for the complement
I agree with what you are saying. I guess I am just sick of the bashing, especially from those who bash him constantly and support 08 candidates. I guess as beachmom and ray of light have said, it's fine to support a candidate, but you can support him/her without tearing others down. And Kerry isn't even runnning.

3. Some of the bashing has become truly pathetic
But it warms my heart to see people defending Kerry who aren't even vocal Kerry supporters normally. It shows that the facts have gotten through to most rational people.

Your last sentence sums up ray of light's comments about people being open to the facts and truth about the senator.
