Barack Obama's remarks on John Kerry (wow, REALLY nice)
http://www.pr-inside.com/prepared-remarks-senator-barack-obama-r381296.htm

I want to thank John Kerry for his support in this campaign and for his service to this nation.

This is a man who knows how much people who love their country can change it.

This is the man who sacrificed the comforts of youth to fight in the jungles of Vietnam; the young Lieutenant who extended his hand to a brother in arms, pulling him from a river as the bullets screamed by.

This is the hero who returned to a Washington where politicians continued a senseless war day after day; life after life because they were too afraid to challenge the conventional thinking; too consumed with their own careers and ambitions.

This is the patriot who saw all of this and said, "No more"; who posed a question to our leaders that challenged the conscience of a nation; who believed in his heart that change does not come from the halls of power, but from the power of a movement thousands of voices strong.

John Kerry is a man of courage; a man of conviction; and a man who's life story has given him an intimate understanding of the kind of change we need right now.

Then he segueways into his excellent "Yes We Can" speech.

I now wished he would have waited until later, but at least it gets the virtiol out of the way somewhat. It's unfortunate that he is losing support just because he did something right are making it seem like he disrespected or wasn't loyal to Edwards (i.e. people unsubscribing from the e-mail list).

But hey, it's to be expected. I guess.

Going to sign off and listen, thanks for posting this.

3. Oh, I doubt he's losing support!
Anyone who says so was never going to support him. I think JK's opinion is respected many Democrats and I'm sure his endorsement will be seen as a positive action by anyone who doesn't have an agenda.

Obama's truths about JK make me very happy. Thanks for posting!

5. Right, it's just been a while since these folks have
had an excuse to spew some bile about JK. So now's the time. And they're already tweaked because this primary has been a... tweak-making time, for supporters of some candidates. It's ugly out there, but I don't think any permanent damage has been done.

4. While I do know some people unsubscribing from his e-mail list
it's only because they don't like Obama and don't want Obama-related mail (at least among the people that I've talked to). Frankly, I might unsubscribe for a while - at least until the primaries are over. But for me, it has nothing to do with not liking JK or being upset b/c he didn't endorse Edwards (I don't really care about that either), I just don't want Obama stuff in my inbox.

7. This is kind of OT, but
A friend just asked me if I thought Obama could beat a GOP nominee. I said if it turned out to be McCain, I took heart from the aplomb with which Obama had handled the INSANE letter McCain sent him in early 2006. Just found the complete exchange and it made me smile, so I thought I'd share:

http://obama.senate.gov/letter/060206-sen_obama_and_sen_mccain_exchange_letters_on_ethics_reform/

You can just see Obama speaking soothing words as he stealthily calls the men with the nets to come and get the foaming-at-the-mouth McCain!

10. I wish people would read that
He stands on his principles and doesn't budge. He just doesn't play partisan games while he does it.
