Sen. Kerry squashes opponent O'Reilly in telling poll. Ha,Ha!
Edited on Sun May-11-08 01:40 PM by wisteria
"Sen. Kerry carries Haverhill straw poll"

"If this city is the trendsetter that Democratic City Committee Chair Bill Cox says it is, then U.S. Sen. John Kerry must be very happy today.

Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, received 76 of 91 votes cast in an informal straw poll for his Senate seat at the annual Haverhill Democratic breakfast yesterday at Maria's Family Restaurant.

He is facing Gloucester attorney Edward O'Reilly in the primary.

"How Haverhill goes is a pretty good indication of how the rest of the state goes," Cox said. "We were very dedicated to (Kerry) when he was running for president."

1. My only question is how many of the 16 others were
from O'Reilly and his family!

2. O'Reilly should be quite embarrassed! ALso, I've seen his supporters
lies and illogical comments at other sites. So I'm not surprised he's doing so poorly.

3. I saw that on the news.
"O'Reilly, seen leaving the event with two dozen family members, had no comment."
