I wonder if JK's office has any plan to do something about it.

ETA: Why is he posting on HuffPo? I mean, what is the agenda? Is he working for EOR? Did he just happen to feel like shooting his mouth off? What's going on with him posting all that crap there?

3. Well
any dissent is disallowed at Huffpost. No ad hominem is allowed to the OP at Huffpost. I responded and my post was quickly deleted for supposedly questioning the character of the OP. But it is alright for Lipscomb to do a character assaination of not only JK but his crew mates as well.

The Huff post IMO is a glorified internet National Enquirer, it will post whatever just to get attention. Arianna Huffington cares more about pushing herself and making sure to prop herself up for every appearance she does on the MSM.

I was banned shortly after the Huffington Post first got started for questioning Arianna about her own Governor's campaign after she totally ripped JK. So I finally got back on so I could post and my post was refused. No debate allowed only one side is allowed to question one's character.

This was my post:
Have you no decency? You on the right prop up every chance that you get "We Support the Troops" and then besmirch any veteran that doesn't bend down and genuflect to your way of thinking.

You not only attack John Kerry but all veterans when you continue this. Have you ever served? Did you even bother to read this: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/30/us/politics/30swift.h... or did you see Mr. Short's name and just pass it off as bad journalism from a "minor journalist"?

I could post hundreds of links debunking everyone of your LIES, but we are only allowed so many words in a post.

I will say as far as the Patriot Project, it was started by friends of John Kerry who wanted to make sure that veterans running for elected offices in 2006 would have someone looking out for them from the likes of the smear tactics that were used against John Kerry. In fact John Kerry wrote a post about the site right here on Huff Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-kerry/will-you-fight... Did you say you were a journalist? You'd think you would of done a little bit of research.

But oh I forgot you were nominated for a Pulitzer prize or were you ? http://freedomsfire.blogspot.com/2006/06/pulitzer-prize...

Stop the hate stop the smears and really HONOR ALL our TROOPS.

I tried posting it again with URL's since they do not allow HTML links and no luck. The Huffpost should be ashamed foer allowing this pack of lies anywhere near it's site.

6. I did not know about that rule at HuffPo
well... I guess my post will not make it either. Is there any moderation as to who and what is allowed to appear as an OP?

9. I didn't either
until I read Doug Reese's posts and he mentioned it. Seems to be no moderation for OP, anything goes.

12. More on that rule
and how it is implemented. Because it is a stupid rule and it makes me MAD. I went back to check the comments on an OP that Hagel posted a few days ago http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sen-chuck-hagel/memo-to-the-candidates_b_109681.html#postComment, and close to the top I find this

"Sermons are great for rubes Senator. Your voting habits show you are gop, not human. As long as you are a part of the war criminal's inner circle, your words are worth very little. And a lack of action further confirms that talk is cheap."

Does calling somebody "not human" qualify as ad hominem? Is it worse or better than calling somebody a liar? By the way, my little comment did not get posted either.

13. swiftboating has always been allowed at Huffpo. AND they've monitered comments
for years!

The question is how to fight back. Since they don't allow comments in...what do we do to make sure that the truth is spread everywhere else?

20. I wonder....
I bet you that the individual blog owner there has control over what comments they allow or disallow. My guess is that Arianna's people don't control it. So I think HE'S locking you out!

14. I had been having good luck getting my comments published, but not this time
I left a comment last night, and it STILL isn't there. I did not attack the writer. I quoted John Warner from the Senate floor, then ended with "This article is an abomination. Shame on you" That is hardly an ad hominem attack.

Is this to lay the groundwork to attack McCain's record?

17. I remain censored, and my comment was posted last night.
I mean it's the same old story. I do not understand how comments get approved. They always allow the nasty comments by supposed "lefties" (the one attacking McCain was stupid), while ones that seem reasonable are left in the queue.

I am very upset now. If I had known that I was going to be censored (seriously, my comments have been showing up lately with no problem), I would have gone to bed. What's the point in doing some research to fight back if you're censored?

May I remind everyone this post is on the FRONT PAGE of HuffPost. A FRONT PAGE swiftboating article against Kerry on a supposedly "lefty" site. I mean, WTF. Has the world turned upside down?

18. I too
was up in the wee hours of the morning trying to post and no matter how I changed it , it was still being denied. I didn't use profanity, I thought I was quite subdued on what I really wanted to say. I was steaming mad when I read your post here and this subject matter and the continual lies just burn me up.

There is no real debate on the Huffpost , they decide what is debatable and what is not. Real dissent is not allowed. I wish the diary at Dkos was getting more attention, this has got to end.

21. That artocle is such a mess of lies discredited in 2004
Edited on Mon Jun-30-08 12:44 PM by karynnj
by one of the people who pushed the SBVTs the most.

It is weird to see that they still think that detail implies truth. (It is sad that he portrays Brinkley as complicit when the Reagan family thought enough of him to have him edit Reagan's diaries.)

I bet Boston College, a top Jesuit college, will love it's designation as a "subway college". Not to mention the entire story ignores that Kerry passed the bar in 1976 right after law school and was already working as an assistant prosecutor. Carter was not President until 1977. This was all constructed around 1 page in Tour of Duty, where Kerry spoke of waiting till late in the summer of 1973 to decide to go to law school - long after all deadlines.

The problem with Lipscomb is that he likely believes that Kerry's testimony was itself "traitorous", though none of the Senators thought so. It is likely that the true root of the problem may be that he refuses to accept that Vietnam is a war that couldn't be "won" - just like Iraq, and like Iraq, it was a war we should never have entered.

I really do not understand why Huff Post allowed this to be posted. When before has anyone cited the "New York Sun" over the NYT?

23. Matchpoint's diary is updated with even MORE info debunking Lipscomb's article:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/30/245/93574/122/543983

My favorite debunking point. Heh:

4. Lipscomb’s top-secret anonymous sources.

A member of the Harvard Law School admissions board - also in violation of ethical constraints - supposedly informs Lipscomb that Kerry wasn’t admitted because of his less-than-honorable discharge.

This despite the undisputed fact that Harvard did not accept late applications such as Kerry’s. At least two biographers have documented that after his 1972 loss, faced with a campaign debt, a mortgage, and a baby on the way, he worked as a regional coordinator for the CARE foundation; after making a final decision not to try for another run in 1974, he applied to law school in the summer of 1973 (Tour of Duty, p. 424; John Kerry, the Complete Biography by the Boston Globe Reporters Who Know Him Best, pp. 163-164).

No, Lipscomb would like you to believe that contrary to ALL known facts, Kerry, immediately after losing the November 1972 election, decided to go to law school, studied for, took, and got his scores from the LSAT, obtained all his transcripts and letters of recommendation, and applied to HLS by February 1973.

And the most amazing thing about this mysterious HLS admissions person: he was willing to risk his reputation and breach all rules of ethics to tell Lipscomb about Kerry’s supposed military record problems, but didn’t mention the most obvious reason of all for not admitting Kerry - his lousy grades !!! I mean geeze, this would have been a bombshell scoop for Lipscomb, since nobody else knew this fact. Why didn’t this so-called source know this?

It's Lipscomb's little embellishments on his lies that really do him in. He insists that this mystery man thought Kerry was otherwise "clearly qualified" for admission. Really, the Harvard admissions board thought a C-average student was "clearly qualified"?

Everyone notice a trend? The Swiftboaters just toss out accusations that tend to be personal attacks, and the Kerry's defenders calmly respond with facts, dates, naval records, and links to the newspaper articles and naval records.
