How Obama's election is seen in the world (anedoctal)
This is very anedoctal and local, but I thought that it was interesting and amusing.

Every year, Euro CGS (An European media/publicity group) sponsors a survey how some words are perceived by French people. They have to note 100 words from 0 (very reassuring) to 10 (very disquieting).

No surprise here. Obama comes with a 2 to 3, while Bush comes with an 8. By comparison, Sarkozy gets a 6, and unemployment/job loss and golden parachutes get a 9.
