Kerry statement on Nobel Prize
“I congratulate President Obama on being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This is an honor of the highest magnitude and all Americans should be proud of this recognition. Since his inauguration, President Obama has taken great strides to elevate America’s standing in the world. Under President Obama, America has returned to its true spirit and core values – global engagement, alliance-building, and respect for international human rights and treaties. The Nobel Committee and the world have taken note of America’s renewed commitment to responsible leadership.”

Huh. It's pretty bad when Iran is less vitriol than the GOP base. Red State's is one of the worst.

5. "and all Americans should be proud ..."
Thank you, Senator Kerry!!

Yes, all Americans should be extremely proud. I remember hearing the news at work this morning and being just thrilled ...

Ever since then, I've been reeling at how nasty, whiny, and awful the response has been.

And I'm a little puzzled ... we should be hearing Senator Kerry's comments on NPR (what with him being CHAIR OF THE SENATE FOREIGN RELATIONS CTTE and PERHAPS having a just a LITTLE expertise in these areas) instead of bloviating Rush (I make it up as I go along) Limbaugh.

It is getting harder and harder for me to deal with the fact that members of a major political party would rather see us look bad and fail on the international stage than rejoice when good things happen. This recognition gives President Obama increased stature on the world stage and gives our nation more ability to MAKE peace.
