Happy St Pat's Day!
Edited on Wed Mar-17-10 07:01 PM by TayTay
Just a great day today, full of sunshine and warmth. I hope everyone either gets to enjoy it or soon gets a day they can enjoy!

Just a favorite song: Mountain Tay-Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem

And my favorite political song of all time: (Boy does this one sum up DU sometimes)
Whatever You Say, Say Nothing-Makem & Clancy

4. My daughter had the following St Patrick's day status
"St. Patrick might be the patron saint of Ireland, but he was also a former slave and one of the first religious figures in history to call for an end to slavery, and for that: a very happy St. Patrick's day to anyone working to abolish any kind of injustice."

As you know with your own kids, it is really nice seeing her and her sisters growing into the people they now are.

8. Happy St. Pat's!
I forgot to wear green, but enjoyed seeing everyone else on the T doing so! A mystery knitter festooned one of the statues near where I live with a tall green knitted hat and the clerk at the used bookstore had clearly put on every green item of clothing she owned, all at the same time.

I did get to pick up my requested Christy Moore CD from the library today, so that was my little touch of Irish for the day!

I just found this hilarious snippet (italics mine!):
In Massachusetts, the winner was a former antiwar activist whose 55% to 45% victory is sure to restore some of the commonwealth's old reputation as a leftist bastion. The image is not altogether accurate, but John Kerry, 40, will be one of a trio of liberal Senate freshmen. An attractive Yale graduate decorated for naval heroics in Viet Nam before he turned against the war, the Irish-American Kerry is conspicuously Kennedyesque.
