First, Student Loan reform just makes me so giddy. This is such a classic Democratic Party thing to do. It's just a beautiful, beautiful thing. Or as John Kerry said: To paraphrase Vice President Biden, this is a big freaking deal:

Wonder what Scott Brown will be doing?

4. Yes, it is
I can't believe it's over! And they did it! Imperfect as it may be (and it is), what a huge difference!

5. Who knew our Dems could step up when it counted?
They stood united and strong in the face of opposition and threats and brought us the most historical social reform this country has seen in decades. No, the HCR is nowhere near perfect, and I believe a public option would have gone a long way to make it better. We knew the House had the votes for it, and the Senate would probably have had the votes for the PO through reconciliation, but I understand why they didn't slide it in at the last minute yesterday, and it's ok.
This new law is a foundation, a start. And all progress has to start somewhere.

6. The unity was tremendous
Seriously, except for a few conservative Dems like Lincoln and Nelson, the Democrats had a great debate and stuck to the core principle to deliver health care reform.

The reaction is positive.

Momentum: Kerry's statement on START
