Awesome Globe article about what JK has done for the Democrats this election cycle
It’s a role Kerry, 66, is relishing, even as his party braces for expected losses in the elections next week.

“I was privileged to in a very visible and important way as the nominee with the potential of being president," Kerry said in an interview. “There’s a weight and gravity that goes with that that is incomparable, and I wouldn’t pretend this is the same, but it’s the same issues, the same battle, the same end goal, and that’s what motivates me."

Kerry has raised or donated more than $4 million to Democrats in this election cycle, according to his staff. The money has gone to 40 candidates and more than 30 national and state party committees and causes. Much of the money was generated by e-mail solicitations; Kerry maintains a huge e-mail list of supporters that he built as a presidential candidate six years ago. The senator has contributed more than $600,000 to Democratic Party candidates and causes from his political action committee and his own campaign war chest.

1. So great to see him *finally!* getting the recognition he deserves..
..he is in this election cycle--just as he was for Obama in 2008--a terrific surrogate! He really shines out there, on the campaign trail.:)

2. It is nice, but I would almost rather (if they covered only one) that they covered
the meeting he led to try to help a small neighborhood deal with flooding, that was complicated by many jurisdictions being involved as it was between two towns, in two counties and involved State and federal environmental issues. The reason is that so often - especially in the BG and BH comments, there are complaints that Kerry does nothing for MA.

Yet, this was not something likely to get him anything - there are just a small number of people impacted and it's not something that will be interesting to the media. Yet, both descriptions show him engaged, funny, personable and very approachable - and working with everyone else in the room to try to help solve something before it is again a problem. This, not driving a truck and wearing a special jacket, is what being a man of the people is - and he appeared to be enjoying himself.

- As to the campaign travel, here's a little article - Kerry is meeting with vets in Western MA today. http://www.berkshireeagle.com/ci_16487494 He was on the cape campaigning with Biden and Vickie Kenney for Keating this weekend. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=news&cd=3&ved=0CDIQqQIwAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tauntongazette.com%2Fcampaign2010%2Fstateoffices%2Fx370073351%2FVice-President-Joe-Biden-visiting-Quincy&rct=j&q=Kerry&ei=x_7OTNrcFYOB8gb59oXKBA&usg=AFQjCNGvuo3IMC-YW3BWXXfvGcrca_cOUw
