Some might like this story of Mick Jagger not being impressed with Scott Brown
Edited on Thu Mar-24-11 11:30 PM by karynnj
I love it when the musical icons of my generation have good taste in Senators. (This is almost as good as Springsteen refusing to play at Christie's inaugural )

Given Libya, Japan and everything else, this is a needed levity. (Brown really is vain enough to go up and introduce himself like that. )

1. Ha, ha!! Love it. I guess Brown fancied himself a celebrity of the
caliber of Mick Jagger. NOT!!!!

What do you guys think, btw, about seeing a celebrity and going up to them? I have seen a couple in my day, and I always let them be. In the end I don't *know* them even though it feels like it because of TV/Internet exposure. The exception would be John Kerry who although I doubt he remembers me I have actually met before. But other than that, it's really rude to bug someone, especially in this case where Mick Jagger was in the middle of a workout.

Scott Brown has egg on his face!!

2. I'm with you 100%
It also seems ironic that the man, who ran on "this is not the Kennedy seat", introduces himself as the man now sitting in the Kennedy seat. I LOVE Jagger's response. If this is true, and the Brown denial is actually a confirmation, it shows rudeness, arrogance - and oddly a weird emptiness.

It is funny that the senior Senator, not the media star junior Senator, has actually met many of the musical icons of that era because they liked him and performed in support of him. (Although Jagger did not - though he had an anti-neo con song.)

6. It was fun
The cool thing was that Brown actually did what JK is constantly smeared as doing - and in fact, he is more guilty of nearly every one of the typical JK smears - while the flip flop and the arrogant rudeness are actually nearly the opposite of JK.

The funny thing is that that story - innocuous as it was - has many bad parts as far as Brown is concerned.
- He is rude and arrogant
- He very really did seem to think Jagger did not understand just who he was - and that Jagger would care if he did.
- He was in Beverly Hills CA - not Massachusetts - and it IS near an election for him. (this after many BH people have posted that JK must be up each time he's been in MA - and any time he isn't in MA - even if he is in teh Middle East, they demand to know why he's not there.

7. And he is at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills ...
Nothing but the best for the guy who campaigned in a pick-up truck and told voters he was a "regular guy."

16. I was wrong - it was probably a mere $675 (Several posts in various places said $900.)
Here is the link - http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/fashion/articles/2010/01/28/we_all_know_about_the_truck_but_whats_the_story_behind_the_brown_coat/

(Not to mention, it kind of shows that they may have used his daughter to say she bought it 5 years before - when she would have been a high school kid - obviously with lots of disposable income. )

10. Doesn't look like lots of interest at book signing at Syracuse University
In fact, the book store looks almost empty. It seems pretty embarrassing. (Bill Bradley filled a small independent book store when he signed his books in I thing 2006 - about a decade after he left office.)

The very short clip is interesting - someone's star may be fading. (or I have a lot of wishful hope)

11. Boston Magazine Calls Out Senator Scott Brown
Ouch. Eileen McNamara goes after Scott Brown and his book. Apparently, the ladies (or ex-ladies) from the Boston Globe are mad at Brown (see Joan Vennochi's column last week about Planned Parenthood). And McNamara goes were others did not dare to go.

Refreshing after Dan Payne's swooning about Brown in Sunday's Globe.

http://www.bluemassgroup.com/
...

Boston, MA (March XX, 2011) - Boston magazine Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Eileen McNamara has written a column in the April issue criticizing Scott Brown of being "more interested in using his story to help himself get reelected than to help those who are suffering the way he once did."

13. Ha ha is right - that segment looks as sparsely attended as the other
Especially as his daughter attends the school, it the turnout should have been embarrassing. (The book did instantly peak at 4 and then fell off the NYT list - and this with his campaign buying copies to give away. )
