He's just too droopy on that side. Reminds me of my dad.

M'God he's aging quickly, isn't he?

6. Anybody know "The I-95 Asshole Song"?
Edited on Sat Mar-05-05 01:44 AM by Withywindle
Were you born an asshole,
Or did you work at it your whole life,
Either way it's working -
You're an asshole tonight

And all your friends are assholes,
Cause you've known 'em your whole life,
And somebody told me
You got an asshole for a wife

11. Great. "Kiss me son of god" by They Might Be Giants
This is Dubya's theme song:

"Well I built a little Empire
Out of some crazy garbage
called the blood of the exploited working class.
Now I laugh and make a fortune
off the same folks that I tortured.
And the world screams
Kiss me son of god.

I look like Jesus
so they say
but Mr. Jesus
is very far away...."

18. I saw him for about 2 seconds
after the C-Span Democratic SS thing. He came on right after. I was shocked how completely disgusted I could become on hearing the first syllable out of his mouth. Especially as I loved all the speeches, good will and fight on the SS thing. Also, I saw that my Junior senator, Lautenberg, felt just like all of us about the election and said it.

16. I always used that flying monkey line
about the swiftsmear bastards when people would say shrubu had nothing to do with it. "When the flying monkeys attack it's not too hard to figure out who sent them."

22. I hadn't heard that line.
"When the flying monkeys attack it's not too hard to figure out who sent them."

Excellent! I wish I'd known it last summer, and I wish someone would use it liberally on the various twits and thugs in the punditocracy who bought the smears (same lazy crowd who keeps saying Gore claimed to have invented the Internet, but that's another thread).

Anyway, it's strangely comforting to know that there are people out there who feel the same revulsion towards THAT THING at 1600 Pennsylvania as I do.

23. It's a Hans Delbrook original
And yes, I thought if I could come up w/ something that marginally clever you would think that some of our so called pundits could do as well.

And by the way, many, many people share your revulsion. Not just here - think of abroad.

25. Then it's a classic line!
Suitable for all seasons, given the state of politics. Anyway, I will be sure to provide attribution. "As Hans Delbrook famously wrote..."

Yeah, I understand that John LeCarre and 99,999 of his fellow Britons cared enough to hit the streets of London and tell Bush to get stuffed, and I knew the Germans wouldn't let me down when "welcoming" Bush (and they didn't). Fortunately I live in a blue state, so it's the next best thing to moving back to Bamberg for the duration of the Chimp's reign.

19. Makes you really wonder about the people
who voted for him because of values. He looks mean, cold and nasty to me. It bothers me that there were so many non-contested stories, from his branding pledges at Yale to the Tucker story you mention that show him to be a cruel, nasty man. I still can't believe the power of the Rove advertising that seceded in making people ignore what was before their very eyes.

But the ugliness within does seem to be becoming more and more apparent. Maybe as you age, your inner self becomes more reflected in your appearance. I hope it feels bad on some level to be Bush.

20. I'm still astounding by the stupidity of the average voter
They'll believe hype, advertising, and hearsay over their own eyes, ears, and common sense. I think it's all tied in w/ the fact that people don't read, think critically, or question the status quo anymore.

21. I've heard that it does--
At 20 you have the face nature gave you
After 50 you have the face you deserve!

I don't understand his "appeal" either. I really, really don't. All I see, all I've ever seen, is a smug, self-absorbed little huckster with no capacity for empathy at all. Little piggy eyes, little piggy mind. This sense has only gotten stronger. I can't even stand to hear his voice now. (It makes me furious because I think his fake "down-home" act is insulting to rural people and Southerners. It's like a minstrel show in "hickface") If he comes on TV, I walk out of the room until it's over. I just can't take it anymore. It's like watching someone who you KNOW has cheated, tortured animals, and date-raped your friends getting all this adulation as Homecoming King and Student Body Pres.

24. That's how I've felt since the election
I really really can't stand to see him on TV. I disliked, maybe hated Nixon, felt Reagan was a disaster, but could watch them on TV without my stomach hurting. I can't stand seeing Bush - so I didn't watch either the state of the union or the inauguration. I have the Jackie Robinson on now, but will mute it when Bush comes on.

The image I have of Bush, is his evil look, when he said "That's one of you "egg zag ger a tions" in the debate when he forgot a statement he said only a few months before. How could people watch the debate and believe lies?

28. Willful stupidity now defines our nation
I really believe that, unless we turn things around, some day historians will point to this time and say, "Yes, that marks the start of the fall of the American Empire."

Mostly when I'm driving. Every time I hear *'s voice on the radio, I say "Shut up, George", as I'm turning off the volume. I can't stand the sound of his voice, the sight of his face, and the idea that he is in charge of this country. :grr: :puke:
