My letter to Ohio Sec. of State CANDIDATE
Dear Mr. Flannery,

My name is Corey Baker and I am fifteen years old. I saw on my local Democrats homepage that you will be coming to speak on Thursday March 31, 2005 here in * Ohio. I am very excited about this event and plan to attend myself. I admire your courage to stand up and fight for what you believe in throughout the state. It is the people like you that the very foundation of our country is based on.

The homepage of my Democratic Party also says that you are running for Ohio Secretary of State. However I have seen nothing anywhere confirming this even on your homepage. I sure hope you are because as a first time voter in 2008 I will be a fresh face punching the ballot, scanning the card or any other way of voting for the Democratic Party. However the issue that most concerns me is the issue of Election Fraud. After months of independent research on my part, I have come to a conclusion that Election Fraud did in fact play a major role in the outcome of the State of Ohio in this last Election.

I have found that numerous amounts of suspicious and no doubt illegal behavior on the part of current Sec. of State Kenneth Blackwell caused the disenfranchising of thousands throughout the state. From unprecedented long lines in particular Democratic precincts, to technical malfunctions such as a vote being switched from one candidate to the other. Also reports from the Associated Press indicating a group of nearly twenty-five men calling themselves "Texas Strikeforce" making threatening and intimidating phone calls to potential Democratic voters in a hotel room paid for by the Ohio Republican Party. All of this just in the state of Ohio under the watchful of Mr Blackwell.

I understand Mr. Blackwell is now running for Governor of Ohio and I am calling on you as a candidate for Sec of State (HOPEFULLY) to reform Ohio's electoral process and not only vow the citizens of Ohio but to the citizens of the United States of America that as Sec of State you will fix these irregularities and these mishaps so that my first vote in 2008 will count and be counted.

In an American Election it is vital that every Vote Count, and that every Vote be counted; but the outcome of an Election should not be determined by mechanical whim and human obstruction.

Please Respond back to me regarding your thoughts.

Thank-You

1. Corey, that is GREAT!!
That hits just the right tone, pointed out the election problems in a way that wasn't conspiratorial or eccentric. Just a really terrific letter.

One teensy critique, we are Democrats, but we're the Democratic Party. The right wing started calling it the Democrat Party in conjunction with their "rat" campaign.
