Is this extreme?
I have stayed out of GDP the last two days, I was just curious to see what anyone thought of this thread. That's their opinion though.

1. not really since it's their opinion
i don't see it though but they have a right to feel that way.

i love Kerry but i don't see Kerry as JFK either other than the similarities such as initials, state, religion, Navy etc.

but in terms of what they have done in politics or have to offer i love Kerry much more.

of course i was born years after Kennedy died but just from what i read. JFK was a good man and i like him as a political figure. but i don't really see him as a great who i want others to be like.

as for Kerry i like him for just who he is. he doesn't remind me of someone i know or like. he just is someone i know of and like based on what he has done in his life.

3. I don't think they were looking for actual similarities
I think it was that Clark could be the same kind of inspiration for this generation.

I don't see it either. They are like us, totally in love with their candidate. And while I don't want to see Kerry bashed, I wouldn't post about him being the JFK for a generation either. That's just sort of presumptuous. He can be my personal inspiration, but I don't have to shove that perception down anyone elses throat.

That said, some folk need to learn that they are the PR department for their candidate, and try not to be abrasive. Cheerleading ain't gonna work, no matter who the candidate is. I even cringe when someone is cheerleading and hardselling Kerry. No please don't. Post about speeches and whereabouts and good information that relates to the news at hand, like say if one of Clark's comments turned out to be dead on in the way that we see Kerry's comments turning out to be true, then great, post it. But to post a "We must have Kerry" or "You must be inspired as I am about Clark" is just going overboard and having the opposite effect.

5. it kind of works both ways though
when people respond negatively it could also be taken as those who disagree telling them it's not ok for them to feel that way or there is something wrong with them feeling that way.

i do agree about Kerry though. i don't see him as JFK. he has his own record and life which which is positive and can be used in a campaign. Corey Baker sees Kerry as someone to admire in itself, not because he reminds him of someone and i feel the same way.

2. It's their right to post it but I respectfully decline the invitation
to join their hallucination. I like the guy OK but the 2nd coming of JFK? Uhhh, I think not.

'nuff said.
