Goody. Another excuse for a good old fashioned Kerry bash.

2. she doesn't know what she is talking about
first of all, most people thought Kerry was more negative than Bush.

and Kerry didn't need to go after Bush anymore than he already was. the problem was in getting his own message out and getting most of the party on the same message.

it wasn't just Kerry who lost but Democratic Senate candidates lost including in 2002 when Kerry was not a national name.

3. She is capable of saying
really stupid things.

Alec Baldwin was pretty good.

4. Her Bush bashing is usually on point.
Again, I didn't see the show. I know Tavis Smiley trashed Kerry before he got the nod on Real Time for his "lack of minority connections."

6. Not surprised

She did get the fuzzy end of the lollipop after that fundraiser in NYC.

So, what's her beef. I think we should assign numbers to them right now.

1. Conceded too soon
2. Didn't fight hard enough
3. Was too much of a Massachusetts liberal
4. Didn't have a Southern strategy
5. Didn't use Edwards in a strategic way
6. Is not a great communicator
7. Didn't have clear positions
8. Had the wrong wife
9. Didn't make me an official adviser. (Was therefore doomed.)

Sub-corollary:
a. Looks French
b. Speaks French
c. Understands the French
d. Has a nuanced view of the world
e. Knows what nuanced means, in the dictionarial sense
f. Has an aloof problem.
g. Keeps aloofs as house pets and they might be French (They sure sound French.)
h. Ordered Swiss cheese on a Philly Cheese steak
i. Never ordered Freedom Fries (Not once. Not even to go with the Swiss cheese Philly Cheese steak.)
j. Mixed up Lambeer Field with Lambert Field. (OMG. How could he?)
k. Loves his wife and listens to her opinion. (This is what Frenchies do.)
l. Forgot he drove an SUV. Or that someone in his family had an SUV. Not sure about this one.

Anyone else got any more?

Didn't know the words to "Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing"
"Panders too much to different groups."
"He doesn't connect with me."
"He's wishy washy"

Does that help? :)

10. Yes! I will collect these
and come out with the JK Forum Official Canonical List of Reasons why People Trash Kerry. This should save a lot of time.

Why did they dislike Kerry? 10, a.

Thanks!

12. but why ?
you keep saying this stuff but this is the same attacks that he got during the primaries and yet he won the primaries. an election is not won based on air america, DU, bill maher or the republicans. it's based on the candidate themselves going to the voters and trying to get their votes. whoever wins will win based on that.

i don't know if kerry will run or not but he sure isn't going to base it on these things since they don't decide who wins.

you don't have to be sorry if i or someone else disagrees. just take it as a different opinion and try to understand what we are saying. but you should say what you feel or think . there are others on here i disagree with at times also but that's just the way it is. we are all on the same side.

13. Give it time.
We are still in the 'pig pile on Kerry' phase of the healing process. This too shall pass. Sen. Kerry is helping his own cause with his stands on health care and veterans issues and so forth. And he had a lot of good posts today because he sent out the letter opposed to ending the filibuster.

Patience. There is a case to be made for Kerry to run again. (Why the hell not? Okay, that's my case, not everybody is so easy.) In time, the case will be made. These are the times that try men's souls, and make us want to punch people. Intestinal fortitude is called for in copious quantities.

20. But sweetie
Your opinion is worth seeing. Don't delete it. You make valid points. I happen to think that my esteemed Junior Senator could even maybe overcome them.

Don't fold. I liked your opinions. I try to combine them with other people's opinions and then throw in a dash of my own. (Shake well and contemplate.)

Don't fold. You are just a kid. Fight for yourself. You say things that are worth saying. And other people want you to expand on what you say, not clam up. You have a unique viewpoint that we would be the poorer for not hearing. Have at it. Enlist help. And speak up. After all, democracy itself depends on differences of opinion.

You have often posted about how Kerry is seen in a Southern context and how the African-American community sees him. (And how they assessed the strengths and weaknesses of his campaign.)

Please, please, please continue to do so. This is a wonderful thing. Hey, I'm sitting up here in Liberal-Land. The place that Arch-Conservative Richard Vigurie once called, "the land of the infidels." (Ah, screw him. He once thought he was going to have a Repub Senate seat pickup here. Hahahahahaha.) Post away. We want and respect your point of view. Sometimes we just forget that not everybody is comfortable with the give-and-take.

26. I'm late but can chime in this morning.
I haven't had computer time lately due to houseguests--have to get up early to beat them to it.

I will expand on your list with more against TH(K?): she is too opinionated, she is too wealthy, (making JK a gigalo, of course).
Oh and she wears clothing (scarves) that look too "latin". Her response: "well, actually, I am Latin." I guess those would go in your sub-catagory, because those are GOP bashes.

For JK himself:
--He speaks in sentences that are too long. Why can't he speak in sound bites?
--He hasn't done anything in the Senate since the 80s--the last time he showed any backbone at all.
--He made too many unrealistic promises, right at the end of the campaign (this isn't from DU but is from a co-worker of my husband's)
--Too serious, not a joke teller like Clinton
--Too far left--we need Repub-lite in order to win.
--campaign managers: should have fired them all, should have listened to X, Y or Z.
--He undermined Howard Dean's campaign with dirty tricks--and Howard would have won the general.

(oh, and under j.--it should be called Lambeer field, but just wanted to make sure you knew it is really Lambeau Field. You probably do. :))

I don't know--don't use any that you don't think are worth it. I just got up and my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

He's a DLC sellout.
