I saw the ad in USA Today
It's on page 15A, facing the editorial page, and takes up the lower half of the page. It is only a black and white ad, but it is large enough. It would have been better on the top half, so I hope it gets noticed. I hope people get the message--that they call their repub senators. The only other action they can take is to sign up at johnkerry.com.

Do you think it will have an impact?

1. I wish Senate business hadn't been suspended for the week
I wonder if that will kill the timing.

I went ahead and got a copy to add to my clippings. Like a dork, I went around and pointed out to people that I was one of the 215,000. "See that, I'm in there." They looked at me like I was a nut.

Eh. Well the barista at Starbucks DID ask what was new in the world. Silly her.

2. Ads like that are designed to be discussed
as much as seen. The office is hoping that the MSM will talk about it on the 24/7 Cable news shows. Since this is PopeWeek, it is somewhat unlikely. But, eventually the discussion will return.

BTW, it is far less likely that the filibuster rule will change this week than it was last week. The Rethugs shot themselves in the foot with the overreach on the Terry Schiavo case. Then Tom Delay did his weird speech on 'getting even with the ones who did this later' thing and that didn't go over well in the media. And now we have Cornyn the Boob explaining that violence against judges is sometimes a fine thing to do. And that caused some people to think he should be charged with a crime. (Solicitation of violence?)

Ahm, I'm not as worried as I was about this. Now, the Bolton thing is another story. I want that wishy-washy Repub Chafee to get the message to oppose that nutjob. And that might go away as the pressure eases during PopeWeek.
