Holy S*%t
The dumb ass has been talking for exactly one minute and he's already mentioned Sept. 11 and connected that event to what we are doing in Iraq. He just mentioned 9/11 again. I'm glad the tv is in the other room or I'd throw something at it. Quick! To the photo thread!!

2. Why does dumbass do that
when he knows September 11th had nothing to do with Iraq. Despite that fact, I read recently in some poll that 70% of Republicans believe it does. I guess Bush says it enough and those Republicans will just believe anything he says.

12. Frank Luntz talking points.

This made my blood boil:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A54906-2004Jun19.html

Excerpt:

With voter anxieties about Iraq shadowing this year's campaign, pollster Frank Luntz has some advice for fellow Republicans: Mind your language.

(SNIP)

• Don't forget the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. " '9/11 changed everything' is the context by which everything follows. No speech about homeland security or Iraq should begin without a reference to 9/11."

I think that would be about the right number. I'm glad we had that picture thread going too! All in all (all bad things considered) I think it was a pretty damn good day for John Kerry and John Kerry supporters!

6. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt
I really did. I can be very forgiving. But he lost me when he took credit for "democracy" spreading all over the Middle East. Ahhhh . . . I don't think Iraq had much to do with those events.

1. Palestinian elections -- caused by the death of Arafat (* only responsible if he poisoned him)

2. Lebanon -- Cedar Revolution (unless * is responsible for blowing up Jarrii -- sorry don't remember the Lebanese guy's name -- that also had nothing to do with *, plus the country has had a democratic tradition for some time)

3. Egypt and Saudi elections -- total sham. There is NO democracy in these 2 countries. For crying out loud, women weren't even allowed to vote in Saudi "elections" and it will be impossible for an opposition candidate to run against Mubarek in Egypt. Absolute joke, a show to appease the U.S.

Related: he said Libya has now given up WMD because of Iraq, ignoring the fact that Libya has been putting out feelers for this for years, including during the Clinton administration. I mean, they've been out of the terrorism business for quite some time.

By the way, he was right that there are terrorists in Iraq, trying to destroy the place, kill Iraqis, and kill Americans. But, whoops, they weren't there BEFORE we invaded.

7. I agree. And there are now terrorist in Kuwait
I heard tht on Morning Sedition with the Marks. Iraq is exporting terrorism and well-trained terrorists to other parts of the ME. This is awful and will have dire consequences for yers to come.

8. Speaking of the Marc/ks
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 10:13 AM by whometense
on Morning Sedition...Feingold has a nice little platform there, to talk whenever he wants.

It drives me crazy that JK isn't taking advantage of the opportunity. The Marc/ks treat Feingold with so much respect. Kerry could be getting that too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9. I agree.
I actually think (am guessing) that Sen. Kerry was re-integrating into Massachusetts this spring. (He was, in effect, away for awhile, if in appearance only -- which matters.)

I think he feels all secure and stuff back in the state, has let a sufficient amount of time go by and is now ready to hit the circuit again in suport of national policies. Last night was a good indicator.

Just my opinion.

10. Knowing JK,
he has a methodical strategy, and he's following it. And I have to admit, he's done very, very well.

Plus, he doesn't want to be one of the talking head whores (like some I could name) who pop up everywhere, and threrby considerably lessen the impact of their appearances.

Of course, there's also a purely selfish aspect to this - I want to see and hear more from him. But I'm willing to accept that John's strategy probably doesn't center around pleasing me. ;-)

11. it might also include avoiding overexposure.
And I'm sure he's really busy with everything else. Still it would be a nice treat to have him pop up on Air America now and then.

We all know what happened the last time his poll numbers looked like this.
