4. Excellent. This is wonderful
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 07:51 PM by TayTay
The only criticism I have of the Kerry PR people is that he has not been on enough national media lately. (Please, please, please, kiss and make up with the Ed Schultz people. Go on that show. Ed's audience can be won over. Please go on that show.)

I am very happy. The speech today was very, very good. I thought the specifics JK mentioned were great and his plan was so much better than the outright lies that * told. (Can you believe that * is still linking 9/11 and Iraq. What a bastard.)

12. I had one too!
A girly moment that is. He looked wonderful (one of the bet appearances since last fall.) :loveya: :loveya::loveya: (Seriosuly, he had that nice smile and that nice patient look that I like. Sigh! That's my President.)

'm taping Nightline, just in case. (I don't actually know anything, just figuring that if Kerry's doing media, he would be a prime 'get' for Nightline. I could be wrong, In that case, It's just a TIVO delete.)

9. He looked fantastic!
Loved that little laugh he gave when Costas said Iraq will never be Switzerland. I'm glad he was able to get his message out to a broader audience than his speech on C-Span today - not everyone got a chance to see that, so this scaled down version was perfect!

13. Thanks so much for the heads up
I should know to be sure to check in JK group every hour on the hour. <laughs> I missed it at 9 so I will have to catch it when it reairs at midnight tonight.

I was telling my mom about what JK said in the Senate before Bush's speech and how he was saying in his speech what he would do if he were president. Well, I told my mom he didn't say it that way but...then my mom to my suprise, and she hates Bush mind you, she said well that might be stepping over the line for JK to do that. I was like WHAATTT! I don't think it is at all. Mothers don't know everything, well almost everything, but not quite.

14. He didn't say it that way
Bob Costas on Larry King asked Kerry what he would have done differently if Ohio had voted correctly (sorry, a sore spot) and Kerry deflected the question.

It's not a good question. Technically speaking, the United States has one President and only one and it's bad form to say what you would have done OVERTLY. Kerry said what he thinks the current occupant of the White House should be doing instead. This is a better and more respectful approach. (It really is.)

Kerry's repsonse was, no surprise here, very well thought out and well said. See if for yourself at midnight (EST)

20. a classy way to handle that question
He didn't need to puff himself up (and then be called sore loser).

The truth is,if he were president things would be a lot different now on the ground in Iraq, for he would have already done many things differently. Make that-- he would have already done many things, period. The current administration thinks "stay the course" means go out on the road and promote Social Security destruction. :(

16. Midnight? I saw 11:30 on cspan.org
Can't CSPAN do a better job of making their flippin' schedule accurate? It's so annoying when I set the VCR for the time they say (like 9:15 tonight) then I miss it because they start at a different time.

A DVR is on my Christmas list. And Christmas may come in July this year...

I hope. cause obviously I missed that one too. Can't watch at midnight though so the VCR will just have to keep going.

Thankfully I saw JK's speech on streaming video earlier today, so I haven't been totally deprived. But it sure seems work and school are getting in the way today!

19. how true
my daughter and I watched the Kerry floor speech again right after the * speech, and it was like an antidote. Honestly I just couldn't make sense of most of what * was saying--every lie so distracted me from following the words.
Then we turned on CNN and like magic, Kerry appeared on Larry King's Show, and made sense of the whole Iraq situation. Ahh.

The more media, the better--there is a leadership gap opening up here, with the public awakening to the true incompetence of the "commander in chief". JK fills that gap just fine.

24. Got the appearance with Costas at midnight
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 11:34 PM by karynnj
Kerry seemed so comfortable and relaxed. His answers even quoted the end part of his speech. I agree with everyone here, he had a great very visible day. I thought it was interesting that he said he didn't ask tough enough questions in the wake of 911 - He sounded so honest and thoughtful.

McCain looks so pasty and pinkish and his voice sounded weaker. Is he having some trouble with his left eye - it seemed like he had trouble keeping it open, while the right eye was open? McCain thinks the war can lead to a better situation than never having had the war? He also said he would think it a good cause and he would be proud to have one of his kids fight in Iraq. (The friend comment was Hagel with Hagel's comment that Bush was not dealing with reality (or something similar))

25. I thought that was one of his best lines:
"I plead guilty on that one." Can't be more straightforward than that.

On a sidenote, gee, when is Larry King planning to retire?? Costas asked such intelligent questions, and - amazingly - actually listened to the responses. Can't fake that.

26. yeah, Costas was pretty impressive
Larry King would have probably asked some crap about whether whoever he is interviewing will run for President again and other gossip non issues type things.

Kerry response to the 9/11 thing was good. but i can understand why things were the way they were. i HATED Bush as i do now. but during the 9/11 attacks even i was willing to try to come together.

30. I was really impressed with Costas
Larry can retire any time as long as this guy gets the gig. I don't watch this show normally, but would if Costas does it. He almost seems like a Kerrycrat.

Is it me, or is the media starting to sour on the * administration? Hope so--hope they look at the polls, see how badly this prez is doing and jump like rats off a sinking ship. I had been avoiding cable news because it was so far right, but last night they all seemed eager to criticize the * speech. If JK will go on, that kind of legitimizes it for me, too. I don't think he goes on FOX.

I know he has some by two marriages. I assume they ain't fightin' age or he probably wouldn't be saying that! He does look very pale and pasty doesn't he?

He's had problems with skin cancer. So that's probably why he's pasty.
