This feels like a sad day for us
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 09:43 PM by politicasista
As a woman, it's feels sad because so many of our rights (i.e. Roe v. Wade, the right to choose) are in danger of being washed away now that * is nominating all these ultraconservative judges to the SCOTUS. It's scary.

It's unfortunate because Kerry tried to warn us that if we didn't want * appointing these judges, then just vote him out. But we didn't listen. Instead we complained that Kerry wasn't ___________ enough and didn't say or do this or that, that we forgot who the real enemy was.

I guess I am going back to the election which was about Vote or Die. Of course, I voted for Kerry. Everybody I talked to was ABB and "holding their nose to vote for Kerry." We nominated a dud, terrible candidate. We should have nominated ___________. Others just said they weren't voting cause Kerry and * were both alike, so there isn't much difference. As you can see poor judgement hurts all of us.

I agree the Kerry and the campaign made some mistakes. Too bad lots of people didn't take him seriously, instead believed the vicious Rovian talking points/spin on him and Momma T.

So I guess it's Kerry's fault that we are stuck with * the next three years? (This sentence:sarcasm:)

I am sorry for rehashing the past (which I don't like to do), but I feel it didn't have to end up this way (with * nominating these judges, and abusing the POTUS)if we had just listen to Kerry, instead nobody cares about the future or the issues anymore, it's just who can dress the best, who talk cool, who can entertain the best.

I am glad the Rove story is out but is there really a light at the end of the tunnel?

1. On a brighter note, Bill Moyers is back at PBS.

2. That is good news!
Maybe it has something to do with the recent study about PBS not having a liberal bias??

3. Could be.
I grew up for revering Bill Moyers. I remember him doing the Joseph Campbell series (The Power of Myth).

I just think he's a fine journalist with a great screen presence that's hard to match. Maybe somebody woke up that you don't just throw away a talent like that.

Or maybe there is legal action behind it. Who knows. I was looking forward to maybe seeing the first episode tonight, but it was pre-empted by *, apparently. I turned off the TV when they announced "a special edition of Jim Lehrer" and never turned it back on.

4. Great post Sista! It is very sad.
i feel like everything Kerry said about * during the campaign is coming true. From Iraq becoming a breeding ground for terrorists to this.

For Kerry, and his true supporters, it has become one frustration after another;( :-( x(
