I dont like them, the DLC but jeez, people take them way too seriously. Ive never heard about anyone on FR or wherever act like the "Main Street Coalition" was out to get them. The Main Street Coalition btw if you are not aware is a group of moderate republicans who try to elect well other moderate republicans.

1. God fucking damn it
I fucking hate them so much. So fucking stupid and self righteous. Nobody likes self righteous pricks but they'll never know it because their heads are stuck too far up their asses. GAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Okay, I'm calm now

2. I just wish they would grow up
The DLC is only a faction inside the party not this black helicopter, sheesh.

3. Hahaha
That's what you think, Kleeb.

Actually, they ARE the operatives in that black helicopter. They're also secret agents of the New World Order/Illuminati/Freemason/Nazi Occult/Satanic/Skull and Bones/Bilderberg conspiracy, and they plan on consolidating their unholy power alongside the Xanthan space aliens who secretly control the Swiss Banks, the CIA and US government, and the British royal family. Resistance is futile.

5. If From could shut his mouth, may be we would be better.

This made me angry too. Some congresspeople work for us, both by fighting corruption and proposing solutions, and From criticizes them and ignores them. I had missed this part, and even if the reaction on DU is overstated, I understand it now.

In short, voters don't know what Democrats stand for. Why should they? For the most part, congressional Democrats, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, and the party's new Internet activists have delivered a largely negative and pessimistic message -- talking more about what's going wrong than how to make it right.

12. This made me mad
I agreed with some of this other piece (below), until this..

"...Michael Moore Democrats, who rejected, root and branch, the idea of a global fight against terrorism and for democracy."

The DLC fashions themselves to be the grown-ups of the party, but engages in this kind of intentional distortion that perpetuates the notion of the weak liberal Democrat, a distortion we just can't afford right now. Just how stupid are they? The moderate Republicans don't attack their fundie fringe this way, why doesn't the DLC get that it doesn't help Dems to attack their fringe either?

13. Thats my problem with them too
Anyhow if you think about moderate republicans, youre right, you dont see em attackign the christian right radicals nor do I see sites like FR going after the moderate ones. I dislike the DLC but I think people should just ignore them, its just a party faction to me, not an all and powerful entity.

8. I know I said in the other thread I wouldn't be back...
But I can't leave you guys high and dry without me :)

Yeah... I see things have mostly deteriorated over the past two hours. I sympathize with ya Kleeb. This whole DLC flamewar is dumb ass.

Let me recommend some good reading for you all which draws a parallel to this situation. Pick up "Homage to Catalonia" by Orwell. It details his experiences while fighting against Fascism in the Spanish Civil War. The book has an account of how the asinine Soviet advisers got the Soviet loyalist militias to quash all their rivals amongst the other factions. So, instead of working together, the various militias were always suspicious of each other, and the Soviets were arresting and executing people. Meanwhile, the Fascists were advancing and the opposition was constantly weakening its already bad position.

Sound familiar? Ugh.

10. I wasn't going to leave permanently.
I was just going to wait until the "hate the DLC" meter got cranked down to a low roar.

The book is really good. Orwell had some pretty good points. One thing he said was that if pacifists really wanted to stop war, they should change their advertising. He said that photographs of dead men rotting on the battlefield obviously didn't work. He suggested that they print highly enlarged photos of common lice, which he said are the bane of existance in trench warfare.

It's pretty cool and a relatively short read.

and many of them are the usual assholes that keep popping up. they have done nothing but complain and whine since i have seen them on DU.

if i felt that negatively about the Democratic party then i would have left long time ago and went on to work somewhere else rather than piss and moan. but then again some just want to feel morally superior without doing any work so they piss and moan.
