I just *love* this picture and wanted to post it in case you all haven't seen it.

This is the first time I've ever tried to post an image so please be gentle with me :)

EDIT: Darn, my first try showed up as a URL and not an image, and in the second try I couldn't get the image to show up on my screen, so I pasted in the URL above. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. (I did check the FAQ.)

2. Thank you! Do you love it as much as I do?
I don't have a photobucket account, but I thought you could just paste in the URL (or the URL with .jpg on the end) from any site with a pic.

So I did a right-click to show properties on the pic, and then I pasted in that URL here. (I also tried it with .jpg but it didn't work.)

3. It's their system
It's the kind of database or web coding system that they're using. Once in a while that happens and I don't see anything that you did wrong. Usually, if it doesn't have .jpg or .gif at the end, it won't show up.

6. Yes, it kind of reminds me of the painting...
in LittleClarkie's sig, just 30 years or so later.

I hope you all don't mind my barging in here with this; I know I haven't posted here much in the last few months, but I still visit a lot.

7. Wow it does look like that painting.
I just went back and looked at LittleClarkie's sig and you are so right! He really has kept many of the same mannerisms throughout his lifetime. I've seen other examples of this as well. Thanks for posting the photo!

we in this group learned about the hazards of hotlinking in a picture thread last Thursday night! If you just paste a URL from someone else's site, you use their bandwidth when someone clicks on it or refreshes. So I'd say to be safe, put it into your own photobucket account, and then from there to here. The problem was that porn was being substituted for the pics! Some people don't like it when you paste their URLs.

9. True!
Though hotlinking only occurs if you paste the URL for the pic into a thing that says "img src" so that their pic displays here. If all you're doing is providing the URL here, and people have to click on it to get to the pic, it's not hotlinking and no one should mind.

13. I know my friend didn't
like it.

He just substituted a gif that said "I steal bandwidth" for the picture that was being hotlinked.

Some places I go don't mind. A Madonna site I've see encourages hotlinking.

I'm not even sure what that would look like, LOL. Yikes!

I think I understand about hotlinking now, thanks!

One of my all-time favorites is one of the pics with Kerry and the children behind the glass. Last year someone once put it up against a similar one of John F. Kennedy. The two pics together just bespoke so much hope.
