Red Sox post: (ANd Judy Miller discussion. They fit somehow)
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 09:45 PM by TayTay
I love David Ortiz. He is the Lord Ruler of Boston right now. Damn. That man can hit. Damn, this team is going to give me a heart attack.

Now, bring on the evil empire. (Three games, winner take all. I am not going to live through this.)

And it's germane to this group because, ahm, Sen. KErry is from MA and puts Red Sox references into the Congressional REcord occassionaly. (Cuz he knows what's important in life besides suckerfish.)

Whome -- did you get unbanned by your kids from watching games? Cuz this was a doozy. Down 4-1, then Sox come back because Ortiz is a gawdling.

2. Yeah, Apparently her source was Libby
I wonder why she was released and why now? Weekend thingie or Fitzgerald is wrapping up the investigation and really, really put the squeeze on sleazy Judy.

We shall see soon. That grand jury's term expires at the end of next month. We are oh-so-close to having indictments for the rest of the BushThugs.

3. I read a post
Edited on Thu Sep-29-05 09:44 PM by whometense
that said "is this scandal week?"

Hmmm...interesting coincidence that Rove and Libby took it into their heads at the same time - and without coordinating with each other, mind you - to out Valerie Plame to different journalists?

Sort of puts a strain on one's credulity doesn't it?

4. It was the kind of week that Dems dream about
Especially in this group. Cindy Sheehan sees our John, is blinded by the light, and puts him in her hall of fame for great answers to profoudn questions and we all breath a sigh of relief that last for more than ten seconds.

Delay gets indicted. (That was sorht going off the diet bigtime. Italian food and dessert for everyone.)

Frist gets caught by the SEC and they open a serious investigation into his improprieties.

Now Judy is going to sing. And maybe Rove and Libby can get matching prison uniforms and hang out together in the federal pen.

(Red Sox win. Okay, that's pretty localized, but still.)

It's a good week to be alive.

5. It's enough to make a person believe
in karma.

And Ortiz? He is something else. I stand in complete awe. He is the John Kerry of baseball players. (how's that for bringing it back to the forum?)

8. another thing I liked
When Brownie went before a committee made up of his OWN kind, and got his ass handed to him. That was great. He was so obviously a stooge of the WH, being paid "hush-money" as a "consultant". He fooled nobody.

Even the Roberts vote wasn't such a bad thing. That 22-22 vote seemed almost orchestrated. Could it be our Dems are uniting? Is this all part of a "cunning plan"? (reference: Baldrick in "Blackadder", a British sit-com) I'm going to be interested in what they do for the next nomination.

6. Sorry - missed your question
NO - still banned. But my daughter was watching in the living room and kept yelling. So I got her play-by-play.

Also, this is one of the (few) advantages of living in an urban area populated by a ton of young folks. You don't even really need to turn on the tv in this neighborhood - you can tell from the screams and silences pretty much what is going on. :D
