Kerry's immigration remark (not John Kerry, Barbie)
Edited on Fri Nov-04-05 07:10 PM by Mass
Out of touch Republicans. I guess Barbie qualifies for the Marie Antoinette's Awards.

And they talk about out-of touch liberal Democrats from MA, what about out of touch conservative Republicans from MA.

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2005/11/04/healeys_immigration_stumble/

Not our lieutenant governor. Healey was fielding softball lobs from WRKO host John DePetro and criticizing Reilly because he supports in-state tuition for those students when Reilly called in. The AG pointed out that, as kids brought here by their parents, these young people themselves had done nothing wrong.

Healey was having none of it.

''They are illegal immigrants, attorney general, who need to be returned to the countries from which they came," she said. She proceeded to give the career prosecutor a lecture on law and order.

''They are illegal immigrants, and you should not be advocating illegal behavior," she said.

Then, displaying that exquisite sense of empathy that great wealth sometime imparts, Healey offered her own solution to the educational dilemma those youngsters face: ''Let them go to private schools if they want to."

1. Too bad for this bitch
that depriving anyone of a basic education is unconstitutional. They shot down that evil Proposition 187 in CA because of this.

2. Let's remember that line
when she's running for gov. next year. I think we can have a lot of fun with it.

3. kids should have some automatic qualifier
Turn 18, been in public schools 5 years, you're a citizen. We can't have people living in this country who can't compete economically because of immigration. It's just cruel to send them back to countries where they have no connection either. We have such a twit in Oregon too, her name is Karen Minnis, she is House Speaker and has screwed up every single piece of legislation this year. I can imagine her saying something just as stupid.

4. Check out the DREAM Act
From the Inquirer:
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/12153547.htm

The Dream Act would give conditional legal status for six years to students who:

• Came to the United States before age 16.
• Have lived in the United States for at least five years.
• Have good moral character.
• Have graduated from a U.S. high school or obtained a GED in the United States.

To become a green-card holder, at the end of those six years, the immigrant must complete two years of university or community college, or serve two years in the U.S. military.

More about this at my blog,

(this is a post from July).

5. I support that totally
I remember DiFi and Kerry have been big supporters of this. But the anti-immigrant people just can't see beyond the end of their greedy noses to understand the wisdom in this. One of the grade schools my oldest went to was full of migrant kids and they were terrific. I had never thought about what would happen to all those kids once they turned 18, until I heard about the DREAM Act. Suddenly, there were all those little faces staring at me, geez. Of course they should be able to go to college and become citizens.

6. What a f*cking b*tch!
Oh Barbie you dipshit. I'm so sorry that the servants who staff Barbie's Prides' Crossing mansion are raising a ruckus. Why oh why can't the poor and the immigrants and all the other riff-only go away only to return when the lawn and shrubbery need a trim. Sigh! Education benefits. Everyone knows the poor only use those things to buy drugs anyway.

That's what you get when you move into the urban environment of Prides' Crossing. I mean really, look at this picture, is this the 'hood or what?

Doesn't that montage just scream poor and disadvantaged to you. I mean really, these poor people!

Note: Barbie's husband moved his company out of the city and to Prides Crossing in Beverly, MA. He recieved a special tax break for this that was supposed to go businesses that relocate to urban areas. It was an incentive loan. Oh, and Barbies vampire husband is a multi-millionaire many times over.
