I think Warner just said the senator from Mass...
Now they are fighting about all of the senators that want to talk.

C'mon Kerry - make my day.

2. And Levin talked an amendment on Iraq coming later too.
I guess they are still negotiating between themselves.

It is about the leak about secret prisons.

8. It is about Iraq.
It's all about accountability and responsibility. (That is the theme, has been all year.)

9. Great points Senator -
The executive branch cannot do this alone.

What a great way to say it.

10. I dont really agree with the secret prisons
but the very minimum would be that they inform the Congress.

Kerry's amendment is minimal. If they dont accept it (and they wont), it is clear that they are hiding something really bad.

14. They are hiding something, that's why I like how Kerry said it.
He made it seem like we need to know what is going on so we can all work together on fighting Islamic Extremists. How can the repugs argue with that?

20. The point may be that the WH always implies the Congress knows
but in this case only the Republicans know - and one of them leaked it. If all the Republicans can be told informally by Cheney, the approariate committees should.

I agree this is minimal but very fundamental - Congress has over-sight functions and they can't do it if they can't see anything.

21. It is ok that it is minimal
The Republicans will have even less excuses to oppose it. It will make it even clearer that they are hiding something.

22. The dems are doing awesome today.
Dayton talking about this now too, and Kennedy gave 'em all a piece of his mind this morning.

You don't beat terror by terror - did you hear that?
Go Dayton!

11. Nice! Well, round one went off well.
Now we'll get that weaselly little Jeff Sessions come in and say, "We don't need any more reports. Only eggheads from Massachusetts need reports. No real 'murican ever reads these things. Go away. How dare you ask us to acount for what we have done."

This will probably get nasty.

Hey, Harry Reid co-sponsored. Who else did?

13. That may not've been "it"
That was a good speech-let by Kerry, but it didn't have stuff about Iraq. I wonder if he's going again later, or if he "pre-empted" himself in order to do the secret prisons amendment. If someone said there's an Iraq amendment later, then I'd guess he's going to speak again.

16. No, Levin said just a few minutes before that that they are finishing
the amendment on Iraq. He said it would take some 30 more minutes, then needed to be shown to Warner before they could present it.

18. It's his amendment, so he has to speak on it later
And parry when the nutjob folks come on the floor and start speaking about how much they love torture. (And they won't tell you what it costs, how they do it or where they do it. So stop asking already.)

I think Sen. KErry has to speak on it some more and be on the floor during debate and such. Bet that sweetie, Sen. Durbin speaks as well.

This way they start with an excellent op - which may be read by far more people than the 127th post that says something inane (and insane).

Thanks for the heads up on the Iraq speech. - I am beginning to take the clone theory seriously.
