You can't be honest with people anymore
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 01:08 AM by politicasista
See I always try to do the right thing when it comes to spreading the word about Kerry and speaking out against *. One person appreciated the info, but another person wrote to me and said "I wish he would have had those BALLS a year ago." Just like the poisonous threads in GD and GDP.

I replied back and told her he did, but the corporate media edited out a lot of things he said. What's unfortunate is that this is the same person who loved his acceptance speech and "Reporting for Duty" line at the DNC last summer. It made me sad to read her reply.

I am tired of us blaming Kerry for the loss to Bush. I feel mistakes were made, but the media didn't help either. I haven't posted here much cause too much negativity over what coulda, woulda, and shoulda been brings back bad memories from last year when people were complaining about how lousy, weak or wimpy Kerry was.

Nobody cares that "it's the corporate media stupid," but maybe I won't spread the word anymore.

2. Never give up on spreading the message!
The absolutely best example is Christianity. Let's view Christianity from the perspective of politics. Let's take "God" out of the equation and just view the historical story. What if those supporters had given up? And they had to face lions. We just have to face assholes.

6. Always remember that we are on the right side of history.
No matter how hard it seems or hopeless it looks, you gotta keep the faith. Whenever it seems like you're talking to yourself, or you're not getting through, or that they've won, just look at that lady in your avatar. Never give up, never surrender. And remember, it's always darkest right before the dawn. Keep fighting the good fight PS, and hang in there!

8. Kerry posted the video of his speech on his senate site for a reason
Edited on Wed Nov-16-05 08:22 AM by ProSense
How many times has he done that before? Not even the media can get in the way this time. People know what happened and want to hear what Kerry has to say. That wonderful story from the poster who said his father changed based on what Kerry said is what's really happening across the country.

I agree with those who say truth is on our side. And by keeping the pressure on, Kerry and the Democrats will prevail.

9. a suggestion...for what it's worth...
First, some people will never see the light. Decide if they're a possible listener who is ready to see the smorgasborg of facts (hope) around them or a person who chews the same dead bone even though there's nothing left on it but their own spit and muck. Where are you going to invest your emotional time and energy? The one who wants a fresh buffet of hope or the one who says 'it's my bone period!"

Ok...so what I've been doing is sending out the facts about the media and ask them..."Did the msm media tell you this?" AND you can get on a roll of 20 things they do not know about from watching the media. Then say, "If the media doesn't tell you the truth about that then what makes you think they're telling you the truth about Kerry or Democrats." And I always bring it back to: media, ethics in gov't, and elections that are not honest.

Ok..so take my advice or leave it.

10. Also, to win the primaries, you don't need 100% of the people
You don't even need 50%. Kerry had a very resounding win in Iowa with about 38%. Although it may make too much of self-reported, volunteered information, a DU thread had less than 14% of people saying they voted for Kerry. Kerry gets somewhat more than that on the 2008 polls.

Th big question will be Hillary, not Clark. The question may be how crowded the field is and the break down between anti-war and stay the course. (But it's even possible the war will end before 2008.)
It was interesting that at least Stephanoupolis was pushing Edwards as an anti-war candidate - spite of the fact that he was more pro-war than most Democrats on the eve of invasion. Feingold seems more likely.

11. I appreciated your comments in that thread, politicasista
And I'm sure there are others who simply read and don't post into a thread like that. So keep it comin'! :)

DU doesn't have to like Kerry at all for him to do just fine, thankyou, with the general population. I think he's doing great and will be increasing his stature with people even more, as * crashes and burns. How many people are kicking themselves now over their vote last year!

DU is so far to the left--they're the types Obama was talking about (see my new sig line!). They are divisive and doing nothing towards building a stong Democratic party. And I suspect that most of them don't care about the party, or about America for that matter--what matters to them is that they get to complain and whine about every little thing politicians do, be they Repub or Dem.

Take courage--we are the ones with our priorities in the right place!
