This is the bill that Kerry authored to get a statue of the late Rosa Parks put into the halls of Congress as a tribute to her and to all others who labored for civil rights.
The speech Senator Kerry gave at her memorial service comes to mind today. He was so genuine about celebrating her life. And he followed Hillary Clinton. Her speech turned me off because it didn't seem to be as much about Rosa Parks as it was about Hillary. It offended me because it was a stump speech. When Kerry came up to podium, I was praying he wouldn't do the same thing. And he didn't. His words were respectful and compelling: a beautiful eulogy.
3. One of the Rethugs came on the floor and just called it up
In paraphrased Senate speak it went like this: I call up S. Res. 62(?) and ask that it be considered immediately and passed unanimously. Any objections. No, good, it's passed and on the table and whatever else they do to passed bills that mean they are now good to go.
