He answered her little get off the topic perfectly, and his facial expression, totally said what a stupid question, when troops lives are at stake. The whole interview was great.

He mentioned the coward call and Casey's plan. That clip they played of Bush makes no sense: He refered to those people in Washington. Did he not get Casey's plan.

11. And wtf was * doing in a flight jacket?
What a colossal butthole.

Hopefully more and more Americans are realizing what a contriving fake weasel he is, and will just laugh at the flight jacket.

26. Especially since...
...he flew all the way from NAS Miramar to the carrier...parked right off the San Diego coast. It came home a day late, just to allow for the photo-op. I heard that the sailors could SEE Point Loma in San Diego from the ship, but had to wait to see their families.:patriot:

29. yeah, you'd think he'd avoid reminding people.
I think the clip they showed here was in Korea. Maybe he was talking to the ROK troops and felt it was appropriate to be in some sort of military garb. As if it is ever appropriate for that AWOL chickenhawk to try to appear military. :eyes:

40. Copying John Kerry.... I've said this before and I'll say it again...
* wants to be John Kerry. He tries to compete with the Senator every chance he can...even after the election.

Biking: Kerry rides in a bicycle marathon. * runs over a policeman while falling off his bike in Scotland.

Guitar: John Kerry pictured with prominent (cool) musicians during the campaign. * photo ops with a guitar while New Orleans is flooding.

Flight Jacket: need we say more?

7. Thanks!!
That is so great.

What a bozo comment though - "you sound awfully like you're campaigning yourself" right when he is in the middle of talking about how to resolve the situation in Iraq. WTF was he supposed to be saying? Anything he says that is rational and well-stated will make him sound like he's "campaigning" to these people!

But now I can't even edit mine and call it a dupe. Oh well.

It's just really great Kerry did this interview! And that we were alerted to it by a post in GD! (see not everyone out there hates Kerry!)

12. That was very good
I'm glad he kept saying bring the troops home. And that Bush has never said what the measurement of success is, and that Iraqis can do their own searching and security. We never ever should have done that to begin with. Really good.

Now to go read the idiocy in GD. :)

14. Thanks,
I am happy to see that that the ADS post states what is really important:

Senator Kerry presented a plan as did Congressman Murtha and though these plans may differ in small degrees, the best result has happened. People are actually paying attention to all of these plans now and the discussion has moved off of the single notion to stay the course, and moved towards the Peace movement's idea of bringing the troops home.

I know from accidentally doing this myself...if you hit "create content" you will get that message. But if you log in then go to add comments and hit reply it should work fine.

I think it makes you preview your post, then you hit ok. (or whatever...)

Try it again?

Oh..yeh...suggestion...email your problems to them if they have a email. I've never noticed if they do or not.

21. After I log in, I get "Access Denied" on EVERY page.
Should I email Dave Swanson do you think? I've corresponded with him in the past. I don't think I did anything to get "banned" but my username sure looks like it. :-(

Maybe because I haven't logged in in a while? But it lets me log in and change my settings. It just doesn't let me go to any other page.

And I don't see a "reply" button. On the home page there links for "add a comment" and "read more". Either way I can post anonymously, but when I did that last, I checked back hours later and my post wasn't even up. So I decided just to use my account, but I had to be home to look up my pw.

(I even just changed my pw thinking I might be locked out due to too many incorrect attempts. Nope, that wasn't it.)

Suggestions?

16. Oh he was great!
Why doesn't he just get a sign printed up that says, "It's too early?" That might help. Can you imagine trying to put forth a decent plan for ending one of the most divisive wars in US history and constantly being asked, in effect, if you are doing this for political gain down the road. It's a wonder he hasn't just out and out strangled the 509th person who asked him that. (This week.)

He plan and his idea of benchmarks are sound, rational and well-thought out. The Bushies will try and co-opt them and then claim that they had this plan all along and why are the Democrats being such obstructionists about the whole thing. (Sigh!)

He looked really good as well. I loved that facial expression when the reporter interrupted him. Classic Kerry. (He doesn't suffer fools well, though the campaign last year did temper some of this.)

opportunity to let that side of him show. She was a real idiot.

Of course, I love the snarky, impatient aspect of his personality. Maybe it wouldn't play so well in areas of the country where people are nicer than they are here???

comments - I'm originally Chicago area and now NJ, two areas not known for their great politeness, but I think his genuine good manners make this not a problem. There were people complaining he was too much a perfect gentleman last year.

I think he actually got to say tougher things than Dean without getting the press out in mass, because he had that veneer of politeness. I would think in this case, as the impatience was clearly that we needed to work on Iraq - not play 08 games - that he comes out sincere and genuine and focused on the right thing.

At the risk of being snarky, he and Feingold sre pushing ideas and plans over politics unlike several others. Even Edwards, who is better than many seems to be at the vague generalities level (unless there's more than the editorial) and then more is made be his "I was wrong". While he is pushing the question away from Presidential poliics to substanitive points on Iraq, many in the Denocratic party are doing almost the opposite, talking politics and refusing to put ideas of what to do forward.

37. IMO I think Senator Kerry is a perfect gentleman in the old-fashioned
sense of the word. By that I certainly don't mean chauvinistic in any way, but simply well mannered and diplomatic. That's the demeanor he usually seems to project in public.

As far as his snarky side goes, I LOVE this about him. I think this is because I come from a long line of snarky, slightly cynical folks on one side of my family, so I appreciate this quality.

The only part of his personality that I see that might not play well with some folks in the South is is perceived reserve. A lot of folks I grew up around never met a stranger. They can carry on a sincere sounding conversation with any one at any time. I can be on the reserved side myself (maybe it goes along with being snarky) and sometimes I think people down here do think that means you're a bit strange.

I don't think Kerry's personality is really part of the southern reluctance to vote for him.

25. He was great - if anything better here than on the earlier shows
I actually liked his annoyance with the "you're sounding like a Presidential candidate", it was appropriate and it brought the talk back to Iraq. So many politicians would have switched to her topic. I also like that he ignored the "you're making it personal comment too" (because he said Cheney had 5 deferments?)

Kerry likely hopes Bush will take his idea, they're his view of the best way to go. I bet he'ld rather have lives saved than get credit. Hopefully both will happen eventually.

"Don't ask, I'm not telling."

It shows just how weak the current president* is when the talking heads ask EVERYONE in politics if they are running in '08. I guess they figure that one day they just might get lucky and get someone to slip up and say yes.
