OK, what does this mean?
SCALIA RAPS GORE FOR '00
By FRANKIE EDOZIEN

November 22, 2005 -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia says the high court did not inject itself into the 2000 presidential election.

Speaking at the Time Warner Center last night, Scalia said: "The election was dragged into the courts by the Gore people. We did not go looking for trouble."

But he said the court had to take the case.

"The issue was whether Florida's Supreme Court or the United States Supreme Court What did you expect us to do? Turn the case down because it wasn't important enough?"

The conservative justice, who grew up in Queens, contended there would have been a difficult transition had the court not stepped in.

He also pointed out that studies by news organizations after the election showed Bush still would have won a Florida recount.

Know this is a RW paper, but isn't this a little out of the blue? Why now?

1. Scalia is full of sh*t
The Supreme Court decided that the recount couldn't continue. They could have decided not to take the case, because the FL Supreme Court had jurisdiction over FL election laws. So yes, by agreeing to take the case, they injected themselves into it.

What an asshole...

2. It seems to me that
senile Scalia is throwing up a diversion.

3. besides...
they STOPPED the counting instead of letting it continue.

AND instead of saying "the whole state must be counted by Dec. 31 we're ending it here and now!"

9siting 14th ammendment which is b.s. because we still don't have equal voting rights across this country as witnessed in Ohio o4.

5. Nothing wrong with wishing!
But I'd settle for something breaking wide open to end the Bush regime's reign.

7. What I am really wishing for, is a Do-over! Right now.
With everything breaking open, it's hard to believe that bsh is still in the WH.

What's that saying - someone give the man a bj already :P

6. Because the election of Bush is looking worse by the day
Someone asks - and he defensively is trying to re-write history to make them look less bad.
