Yes, another Boston thread - head count please!
Edited on Sun Nov-27-05 10:18 PM by Vektor
I'm curious how many there will be in our group. Can everyone who will be attending, both those traveling from other states and locals please check in here?

Thank you, Kerrycrats!

I'm going! (There's one.) :-)

10. Oh, LevensonK is coming with her husband
She might not be sitting with us, because she is going with her hubby and because of other reasons, all fine and good. But she lurks here and wrote in another Boston thread that she is coming. (Don't be shy. Check in. You don't have to sit with us, but check in anyway. This is kind of fun.)

21. Hi!
I just noticed this thread, or I'd have posted before now. Yeah, I'm a little shy, but I would, of course, be honored to sit with my fellow DU'ers, if I'm welcome! (and hubby, of course)
As I said before, it's not 100% certain yet if we can make it. It hinges on one particular aspect - once that clears up, it's a go!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the event :-)

22. You will sit with us.
We insist. Tell your husband he will be surrounded by mad women, this will be a big inducement to come and sit with us. (Ahm, well, maybe not. Tell him we are friendly and have been known to buy drinks for people. Ahm, and we are funny. That should do it.)

I hope you can come. Let me know.

15. Nice intro to Boston from, gulp, the NYTimes.
Just a sweet little article that talks about Boston at Christmas time. Gives you some ideas of what the place is like.

Have fun!

17. Thanks for the link! I have a request for anyone from the
Boston area. Next week, as we near K-Day, could someone please give us rundown of the weather forecast? I'm assuming it will be cold, but then again I'd also expect it to be cold here this time of year but instead it's 75 degrees today. (I don't expect it to be that there, by the way.) I'll keep my eye on the Weather Channel, but a local forecast would be nice too. Thanks!

18. Count on it being colder than where you are.
I would pack for temps in the 30's during the day. That's pretty normal for December in Boston. It drops lower at night.

19. What Rox said.
This week is warmer. Temps in the 40-50's. Last week it was cold, temps in the high 20's to 30's. (The temp at night in Bosotn got to 24.) Bring comfy shoes for walking, a warm coat and gloves. (Just in case.)

It's not the temps that get me, I can take cold. It's when the wind blows and it gets COLD in your bones. That's when it gets me. I am praying for non-windy days.

27. I have extra warm scarves and warm gloves
if needed. I would hate to have anyone buy stuff that won't really be used again. Just let me know and the warm stuff will get to you.

29. I have a coat
I should probably layer though. I went to Lake Tahoe which got to 18 degrees and I bought some gloves. However, they cost me 1.50 and they got holes in them, haha (surprise surprise). I can buy some inexpensive ones though that are better quality.

sighting. And the Heinz sons. Perhaps a Clinton or two? John Edwards? Maybe a few celebs.
