Piss off Kos - donate to John Kerry!

I've got an idea, folks, for those of you who'd like to participate. I am thinking about donating $20.08 to johnkerry.com in honor of Kos's recent lying bullshit. If anyone else would be interested in doing that, maybe we could all post to this thread, saying how much you decided to donate to jk.com, and after it's finished, someone could post on DKos the total amount of money that he helped raise for Kerry - sort of like an ironic thank you post: "Thank You Kos for helping to raise $250 dollars for John Kerry!" or whatever.

Does this sound like a good idea? Absolutely no one should feel obligated to partcipate - I'm a poor college student, and I understand money gets tight. But I'd like to know if some people would be interested in doing this. I think it'd be the PERFECT way to retaliate to Kos.

Years ago, I was a regular poster on a few hockey fan boards. The Red Wings board had a lot of fans of other teams too. Anyway, there was this Calgary fan who liked to tease a girl who loved Edmonton and hated Calgary... he'd do it by posting pictures of Flames players with captions like, "Hi, Amanda! Theo Fleury loves you!"

Just to keep straight who I've counted already: me, globalvillage, ProSense, Noisy Democrat, and jenndar have all donated so far, $20.08 each.

This brings the Fuck-Kos-a-Thon's grand total to $100.40! Way to go, Kerry warriors! :woohoo: :party:

Just imagine Kos's shit fit when we thank him for helping to raise money for John Kerry.

Maybe let's keep this thread open for new donations for another day or so, and then someone can post the grand total at DKos.

I gave a month ago when Kos did this. Then I decided to give some $$$ luv to the Katrina vics. (I mentioned in the post that I thought Sen. Kerry was one of the few who hadn't forgotten about the people in the Gulf.)

Send Island Blue to Boston Fund - I'm all tapped out at the moment. We should at least add the donations those of us who are going to Boston have made to KAP for attendance at the party. That would be $100 each (unless of course some of you have ponied up more).

I didn't mean to imply that people weren't donating enough or that donations "don't count" or whatever. I just thought it'd be fun to post on DailyKos exactly how much money was sent to JK directly as a result of his lying bullshit. Obviously 100$ to KAP is a huge donation, I never meant to imply otherwise. I really didn't mean to offend anyone.

So, what, nine of us are going to the party? That's $900, plus the $100.40 from the Fuck-Kos-a-Thon, plus whatever TayTay donated the last time Kos was being an asshole. Once we get a grand total, someone with a DKos account should go thank Kos for doing his part to raise money for Kerry.

I just think that to give Kos a bigger thank you then the number of donations to kerry should be extra large. That's why I think those other donations should count.

And no offense taken. I was toting up my year end donations and I felt guilty cuz I wanted to do more. Sigh! I wish I could. But I also want to do that donation to Oxfam. This is the first time ever they are doing a drive to supply essentials to people in this country. Sigh!

I'm doing the b-day bash too but I'm thinking of adding a little more cause I just got snail mail from FOJK about the 20,000 Troops Home petition. (I already signed online. Did anyone else get the snail mail too? But I might donate anyway.)

The only reason I haven't chimed in before is because I'm dead broke 'til the 9th. But I love the idea of pissing off Kos and hope this is something we can do periodically (maybe at another time of year -- December is always a stretched-thin time for most people I know!) Sadly, I think we can count on Kos continuing to be an immature ass for the foreseeable future...

I am going to the Boston birthday event, so you can probably count me as one of Tay's 15 and add my $100 to the total, but I do love the $20.08 (or $2008.00 total) idea and hope we can go for it again early next year.
