Boston Status: Whew boy! Are we having fun yet?

It's going to be a long night.

Vektor (And friend) is en route, I think to Boston from Minneapolis/St. Paul. ETA: sometime between 11:00 - 1:00 am. Delays in Boston.

GLMRGC got delayed. She is due to arrive at 2:00 am. (Whome gets a medal cuz she will pick her up at Logan at 2:00 am.)

Fire is stuck in Atlanta. Don't know when her flight is scheduled for Logan. (11:00?)

WEL is in Detroit. Delayed getting into Boston until after 11:00 pm.

OMG! now I'm freaking out. (Somebody land here! Just land. Whose ideer was this anyway? Whome assures me that this will make a great story someday and will add to the lure of the great Boston Trip o 2005. I should live so long.)

And my stress level just went way down. (Phew!)

Fire is 'in the air'

Vektor and Friend are 'in the air'

GRMLGC is 'in the air'

WEL is cooling her heels for a little while longer in Detroit. (But she has called several times. Nice girl that WEL.) WEL is the only one looking to 'warm up' in Boston, as she is leaving behind the mid-west freeze. (Gulp!)

So, this is gonna make a great story some day, right?

She is in Boston! (Yeah!) She will call Vektor, cuz Vek gets in in ten minutes and then they can all cab to the Hotel.

Now about our LA bird, that is going to be quite a shock when she lands!

She is getting off the plane now. They can all cab to the hotel. Whew!

Norfolk, Va here I come! No wait, Cincinnati, OH here I come! No, Manchester, NH here I come! Ummmm - oh well, I'll get there sooner or later (hopefully sooner)!

Let us know when you all get there. God how I wish that I could have gone, oh well hopefully there will be another rendevous that I will be able to attend.

I'm guessing everybody is busy doing airport runs or chattering or zonked out after this crazy day. Hope all is well.

In two hours, I will be making a long journey away from Boston (sadly) but towards warmer weather (happily). Except, that warm weather will only be for two short days because I'll be back witht eh yucky snow by Monday.

I wish Boston was between North Carolina and home, cause if it were, I'd detour to the shindig too...but alas, since it's probably 500 miles in the wrong direction, I can't join you!

not from New England is going to get a sampling of our lovely winter weather. Too bad JK wasn't born in the fall so we could show off our colorful leaves instead!

GRLMGC and I are here at whometense's house. We just ate some Chinese takeout and are winding down from an epic day of air travel. (Ask me about the marathon I ran halfway across the perimeter of the airport at Detriot x( ) But we're here now and CAN'T WAIT TO PARTAY! :woohoo:

You made it, and that's the main thing. JK is starting to wonder where all that HEEET he's feeling is coming from!!

I am so relieved! We have 5 people now in Boston and are awaiting 3 more who will come in today. If they can survive this harrowing trip to Boston after a pretty major Nor'easter, they can survive anything.

That storm yesterday was not predicted to go like it did. At one point the storm fed on relatively warmer waters over the Atlantic and then exploded. BOOM! I think it went retrograde and spun all that moisture it picked up back over the inland area. Boston had winds up to 50 miles an hour, snow coming down, at one point, at the rate of 3-4 inches an hour, lightning and near zero visability. Cars were being abandoned all over the place. The roads were in very bad shape until the crews could get out and sand and stuff. No joke, anyone who made it here has a story to tell. This storm goes in the record books and adds to the, ahm, lure of 'Boston in Winter.'

Boy, I'm glad that's over with. Now we can go and have some fun!

I will post briefly tonight if I get a few minutes. Wow! Kudos to all the determined souls who just never said quit on this. I salute you. You folks would qaulify to be 'Mainers,' now that's a tough soul! :patriot:

Having lived in Boston through the record-breaking winters of '93-94 and '96-97... I salute you all!

Thanks for the play by play, guys. I'll keep checking in this weekend to see how you are all doing. Sounds like it's going to be lots of fun, although looks like sleep is going to have to be a low priority! Have a great time, and know we're ALL there in spirit!

Today shouldn't be all that bad for the second wave coming in. Sunshine, and blue skies up here - albeit with over a foot of snow. lol We got hammered up in Amesbury yesterday. I shoveled the driveway twice, and still had to get back out there before my husband finally made it home after a 4 hour commute (normally 1 hour). My back is killing me today :-(
I can't wait to meet everyone tomorrow, though :-)
