Please, could you stop this now!
I think I told you before why I love this group so much and why it's so special to me, and certainly to the most of you too. It's because people here are great, warm and welcoming and always there for each other. (And yes, TayTay is our Mama T!) And even if there are sometimes political differences and heated discussions, it never got personal... until now.

I have been on several online forums and in fan groups before and it always ended badly when people started jumping at each others throat. It was always the same story. Someone felt she was closer to the celebrity than the others and that gave her more "rights". Someone thought she had to defend her star because he wasn't appreciated enough by the other members. Someone felt left out because she wasn't or at least felt not being part of "the insider group" etc. etc. etc. I could fill books with these stories! It always were just a few in a group of people who got along very well, but their bickering and fighting poisoned the atmosphere of the whole environment, and finally the group fell apart.

I don't want the Kerry forum to become just another weird fan group. Especially as the "mission" here is much more important than just being fans of this actor or that singer etc. It's the future of your country and IMO the whole world that's at stake here! Please don't let personal feelings get in the way of fighting for a better future for our kids!

I just had to say that and I'll shut up now. I apologize in advance if someone feels offended by my words. That really wasn't my intention. I know I will never be able to support John Kerry in the way you guys do (and I admire you all for that!) because as a non-US-citizen my support can only be a moral one, but this group and your work means a lot to me.

2. Not to worry dear
we've had our various disagreements before, at least once. I'm sure it will iron itself out before long. We are generally a mature and intelligent crowd. But I suppose we should expect that misunderstandings will happen and feeling will get hurt from time to time.

Give it a couple days, then see if we're still going cuckoo bananas.

3. This too shall pass
Don't worry about it. This is absolutely no big thing. We're by and large on the same page, nothing has really changed.

I just want people to take a time out and post more pictures!!

5. Thanks sandnsea
I know I can be "preachy" on the side, but I just don't want us or this group to fall apart over little, silly things. I know it's ok to disagree, but we need to be on the same page as far as reaching our goals. Maybe I am just sensitive or something I don't know, I am just trying to show some unity here.

6. I'd love to
But I (of course) forgot my camera on Sunday, and the pic someone took of me and JK that I've seen so far is not going to hit this forum. No way, no how! huh uh. I refuse to be the laughingstock of the group! Seriously, though, once everyone gets around to uploading their pics, I'm sure you'll scream 'enough' before they're done posting them :-)

7. Thanks Europegirl and Politicasista
Imagine if JK (or THK or one his daughters or Chris Heinz or the Senate office) for the very first time decides to take a look at this forum, and look what they find . . .

It needs to stop, guys. Please.

8. Everyone Can Get Their Chance
I'm probably not the only one kicking themselves for not going to Boston after hearing the reception they received. (And those who went have nothing to appologize for).

Keep things in perspective--this is not a one shot incident. I know both from personal experience and similar stories from others that JK and Teresa have long appreciated what the bloggers have done for them, dating back to the early days of the 2004 primary campaign.

They have done special things to show their appreciation in the past, and I think it is a safe bet that they will continue to do so in the future. Many of us will experience this again in the future. We will also experience the regret of not attending events where something special happens as I doubt even the biggest "groupies" here can make every Kerry appearance.

12. I think everything will calm down
Everyone is just really excited right now - some people feel protective of the special time that they had with JK over the weekend, and others feel unreasonably jealous (well, at least I do, I dunno). But I think that most of us are very level-headed, and that all this intensity will pass.

14. I hope so
This has been such a great forum.

Emotions have been running high recently, even before the big weekend.

I hope things calm down, and that this special online place continues to grow, not drive people away.

We all want the same thing, right?

13. I agree, europegirl
I like to think of this forum as a warm, cozy place. When people trouble getting along, maybe it'd be better if they used a PM's to work it out.
