John Kerry speaks at Baldacci fundraiser
How does Senator Kerry get around? He's all over the map! Does he have use of a private plane, I'm guessing? I can't imagine he's bussing and training and planing all over.

Kerry, addressing about 125 people at the Sea Dog Restaurant in Bangor, said the Maine race for governor isn't just a state contest. "We're here today because we need to change the direction the country is headed," said Kerry, who in 2004 won Maine's four electoral votes but lost the election. "For years, we've had a wonderful partnership between the federal and state government, but that has been broken by what we have in Washington today."

Baldacci, a Bangor native who served four terms in U.S. House of Representatives, won the governorship in 2002 by defeating Republican Peter Cianchette of South Portland. He announced recently plans to seek re-election. "It's so important for me to get out and talk with people," Baldacci said. "I never got involved with politics for the office, I got involved so that I could do things for people, Maine people."

Kerry, before turning his thoughts to Baldacci, spent much of his time Saturday taking shots at the man who defeated him in the 2004 presidential election. "I better speak softly in case President Bush is listening," Kerry told the audience, which was made up of state representatives and local Democratic party supporters. "It's great to be in Maine, where the temperatures are actually lower than Bush's poll (numbers)."

Kerry, who has been said to be considering another run for the White House, has also put forth a plan to bring 20,000 troops home after the Dec. 15 elections in Iraq. The Bangor event was one of two scheduled Saturday to raise money for Baldacci's re-election. Guests paid $100, $250 or $500, according to Maine Democratic Party officials.
Jesse Connolly, who is running Baldacci's re-election campaign, said the governor hopes to raise $200,000 by the end of the year. Kerry and Baldacci were scheduled to appear at another fundraiser at the Samoset Resort in Rockport Saturday night.

7. I'm with you here.
I hate these two comments (in any variation): "lost the election" and "voted for the war."

11. I think I've heard that one before too (lol).
I was thinking about this line earlier, and thought about how it could be reinterpreted by the lefty (or rightie) freepers.

JK: "The temperature is as low as George Bush's polls."

LF: "What is John Kerry trying to say? What does he mean the temperature is as low as George Bush's polls? I was just watching the Weather Channel and the temperature in Honolulu is 75 degrees. Is John Kerry saying George Bush has a 75% approval rating? On the other hand, it's 15 below zero in Minneapolis. So now John Kerry is saying George Bush has a -15% approval rating? He's a flip-flopper - he can't make up his mind. I knew I couldn't trust him!"

End of imaginary lefty freeper rant.

25. OK, this is unfair to the people who were not there.
Still, I can not tell.
Suffice it to say that Teresa is just as amazing and funny as we all know her to be. I just love her.

13. I'm sorry, this is going to sound a little superficial
but WTF is Laura wearing in the Rosa Parks signing pics? Was she on her way to the mall or something? It looks like she's wearing white tube socks.
Put on a suit, Laura, for crying out loud.
OK. I truly am sorry for that (her 'outfit' is really hideous, though).
To prove my comment is non-partisan, Condi looks great, and I hate Condi. Bet she's got some great shoes on, too.

14. Globalvillage, you ought to know.
You are one of the most beautifully dressed gorgeous ladies I have ever seen. Your outfits in Boston were fabulous, and you even looked stunning at the pub. There I was, sitting next to my hero, whom I did NOT expect to show up, wearing a thermal henley, and holey jeans! I wish I had worn something nicer.

15. At least you weren't wearing a shirt with HIS FACE and the word SEXY
On second thought, I'm kinda glad I was wearing that shirt. It was... distinctive.

Did you notice that as soon as he walked in, I said "hey did you see R's shirt?" and pointed to your ample bosom.

Don't say I'm not looking out for you! ;-)

21. Aren't you sweet?
That's so nice, especially coming from the stunning Vektor.
So funny, I was sitting next to the Senator, trying to have a semi-serious conversation with him, all the while wearing a big ole 'I *heart* John Kerry' pin. I had forgotten I had it on, but I'm glad I did.
The sexy shirt and the Kerry pins had to be a big ego boost. I'll bet the overt display of Kerry love was one of his favorite gifts. I mean, what man wouldn't be impressed by that?
I wore that pin on the flight home, and had a wonderful conversation with a man who asked about it. When I told him about the birthday party, his first question was "Will he run again?" Of course, I told him I didn't know, but we're hoping, and right now, the Senator is focusing on '06. That led to a fun discussion about the horrid Rick Santorum.
Despite the venom directed at the Senator on DU and some blogs, just seeing the name Kerry brings out the best in a lot of people. We just have to keep putting it out there.
