The Buzz: Here come the sons

Lawyer Joseph “Beau” Biden, son of Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, is entering the 2006 Delaware attorney general race. Sen. Biden said he plans to be involved in his son’s race only as much as he is asked to be, noting that the first-time candidate consults him for advice — but only occasionally.

Some think the senator is grooming his son to run for his Senate seat if and when he decides to retire. But Sen. Biden scoffed at the notion, and Delaware politicos point out that Beau Biden has the qualifications to become attorney general.

James Carville????
In a recent survey, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee asked respondents which Dems they view as “party leaders.” It listed eight possibilities: James Carville, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Al Gore, Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton.

Notably absent were John Kerry and John Edwards. A space was provided for a write-in candidate. The DCCC said there is no plan to release the results.

1. I wonder how many write-ins they received.

Anyway, I am not surprised they do not published the results. I remember it was posted here and in GD and everybody had the same reaction to the survey.

Wrote in John Kerry and told them I would fill out the rest when they figured out who the party leadership really is.

7. I wrote in JK also (of course)

and gave them an earful about including James Carville. It was really difficult to express that I was actually laughing your ass off at the mere thought of Carville being a party leader, but I tried my damnedest. I would love to know the real results of their little survey.

5. Gee, I wonder if the DCCC plans on giving back the money

that the non-leaders have given them. I seem to recall one northeastern Senator who gave them, outright, $500,000 dollars with a pledge to double it with contributions during this election cycle. Hmmm, if the DCCC doesn't think those folks are 'leaders' then why are they taking their money?
