Kerry Catholics??
So we have Democrats recognizing and standing up against "swift boating". We've got a 2004 platform that our Democrats can actually point to, in every area, to show Democrats are right on the issues. And now it looks like we even have Catholic Democrats learning a lesson from how badly John Kerry was treated.

In a way, that says as much about John Kerry as anything. Even though Democrats still won't quite stand up for him, they do know he got a raw deal and they know it because of his character. Too bad they couldn't figure it out and stand up when it would have made a difference. But maybe it'll help make a change for the future.

"..Still reeling from the attacks on Sen. John F. Kerry's brand of Roman Catholicism during the 2004 presidential race, 55 House Democrats issued a joint statement yesterday on the central role that the Catholic faith plays in their public lives.

"But we respect each other and we're going to defend each other, because we're all operating in good conscience...

"Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro (D-Conn.) said the Catholic Democrats "have decided to stop letting others define us...

1. as simple as that
"But we respect each other and we're going to defend each other"

of course there will still be problems with the right wing media and other things.

but we should know we can depend on our own to stand up for us.

2. Thats cool.
It's good to see the members of Congress standing up, especially good that they are focusing attention on the nastiness of the SVBT.

This is an offshoot of the 'Catholics for Kerry' group that started in '04. Nice to see them having an influence.

5. This is great
As soon as I finish converting to Catholicism (in a few weeks) I'll have to join. Maybe see about starting a chapter in Michigan.

6. James Carville kicked ass!
Edited on Sat Mar-04-06 12:18 AM by FreedomAngel82
I loved how he made the points about the poor and Jesus on gay people. I make those points all the time with other Christian's. I show them how Jesus obviously didn't mean it of any revelance either way and we all know gay people were mentioned in the Bible but never Jesus mentions them in any of the gospel books. But he does talk about divorce and adultery. I loved when they showed Kerry! :) I wish they showed Carville's reaction to the last point. I would've loved to see that. Does anybody know Carville's rebuttal to that?
