You will never find pics of Blinky and Laura holding hands, or her ring.

13. I've seen a few pathetic ones, where Laura
obviously needed a hand, like going up steps in a long gown. And chimpy just smiles and waves at the people, clueless as usual. She had to just grab hold of his sleeve instead! No manners, no class! But we'd expect that, since he is the opposite of JK. :)

17. Actually, Bush held Laura's hand very tightly on Election Day
It was in that Frontline program about Rove. * wasn't sure he would win that day, but Rove had taken care of everything apparently. But since that day, I haven't seen anything between them. I can't figure out that couple -- probably because Laura is such a mystery, revealing next to nothing about herself (I swear to God, she might be a Democrat -- how many Republican librarians do you know? -- who has a weak character).

18. She was a Democrat at one point.
I don't have a link, but it shows up in most articles about her.

32. That was from the Dem Convention. I loved that speech!
What a great First Lady she would be..."telling Truth to Authority."

She has such Strength...yet TRUE compassion...like JK.

33. Does anyone have any info about that ring?
I showed this to my husband, who reckons it is at least 10 carats. I'm wondering if it was in the family already or purchased new, etc.

34. I read somewhere that it was a gift from her late husband
She is entitled to it and to her good memories that it brings.

That makes sense. It's worth big bucks. How nice of Kerry not to mind her wearing it--but that's totally in character for him. :)

Note: When BET.com did their tribute to Mrs. King, they gathered the best photos of her with dignitaries, and this was one of them.:)

10. Awesome!
Love it! I thought it was very very revealing how during the 2004 election Kerry went on BET and did an interview and they invited Bush to come on but he said no. Very telling huh? And Kerry's interview was so relaxed and laid back. You could tell he was enjoying himself. I also loved his MTV interview.

25. I love JK's body language in the photo with Mrs. King.
He's listening to her talk, and has his hand over his heart. That simple, subconscious gesture says it all. JK always speaks volumes with his body language (as does Chimpy's - in the exact opposite way).

as he looks over bsh's shoulder.

Wonder what he was thinking-
"hmmm, let's see if George can write his own name".
