Maybe this is why they took a break.
Look at this stuff coming up, just in Commerce:
Importance of Basic Research to United States' Competitveness Technology, Innovation, and Competitiveness Hearing Wednesday, March 29 2006 - 10:00 AM - Dirksen 562 ** Sen. Kerry is RM on this committee. I have no idea if he can show on this as there is a competing closed session of the SRFC to hear about the Nuclear Deal with India and Kerry was acting as an official of SFRC when he visited India in Jan.
-------------
Competition and Convergence Full Committee Hearing Thursday, March 30 2006 - 2:30 PM - D-562 Geez, more competition hearings.
----------------------
The Current and Future Role of Science in the Asia Pacific Partnership Global Climate Change Hearing Wednesday, April 5 2006 - 2:30 PM - Dirksen 562 Global warming and Climate Change. Geez, whose priority was this?
----------------------
Offshore Aquaculture National Ocean Policy Study Hearing Thursday, April 6 2006 - 10:00 AM - SD-562 Fisheries! Oh me still my heart. Actually, this sort of dovetails with the Climate Change stuff, doesn't it? ----------------------
Fostering Innovation in Math and Science Education Technology, Innovation, and Competitiveness Hearing Wednesday, April 26 2006 - 10:00 AM - Dirksen 562 Geez, I sense a theme. Sen. Ensign really wants that bill out. I wonder how open he is to hashing out the real issues and seeking bipartisanship on this. -------------------
Projected and Past Effects of Climate Change: A Focus on Marine and Terrestrial Global Climate Change Hearing Wednesday, April 26 2006 - 2:30 PM - Dirksen 562 Geez, this is more climate change hearings that the last 2 years combined. What's up with that? ---------------------
Geez, do you think the Senate is trying to pass some actual bills on this stuff. (Does anyone else see the pattern here?) Maybe they can slap a weird names on the bills and call them, 'The Warmer Winter -- Less Heating Fuel Act' or the 'America Likes Smart Wonky Nerds Act.' What do you think?
