Bush & Cheney fight back with 'withering sarcasm.'
Read this article. These people really have slipped a gear.

http://www.kfmb.com/stories/story.44014.html

"If you want the government in your pocket, vote Democrat," Bush said. "If you want to keep more of your hard-earned money, vote Republican."

Cheney, speaking at a GOP fundraiser in Orlando, Fla., took on Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid and party chairman Howard Dean by name. He said leading Democrats have demanded a "sudden withdrawal from the battle against terrorists in Iraq _ the very kind of retreat that Osama bin Laden has been predicting."

"With that sorry record, the leaders of the Democratic Party have decided to run on the theme of competence. If they're competent to fight this war, then I ought to be singing on 'American Idol,'" Cheney said.

The remark drew robust laughter. "I don't know why that's funny," Cheney said at the event for Rep. Ric Keller, R-Fla.

I don't know why that's funny either. He'd make a better Idol than he does a VP. Apparently, KKKarl Rove is up to his old tricks. Take whatever your enemy is perceived to be strong in and hit them there. Except, ahm, in this case, do it in reverse. Remind Americans of your opponents new campaign slogan calling you friggin retard morans and make it work for you.

Bush: "Who me, a friggin retard? Yeah, but you should see these other guys. I look like a regular retard next to them."
Cheney: "Imagine me in a low-cut gown, singing on American Idol. 'I feel Pretty, oh so Pretty.' "

Seriously, are these people friggin retarded or what?

1. They remind me of little kids on the playground.
Cheney of course is the bully who beats smaller kids up for their lunch money, and * is the kid who always got into arguments that went something like this:

"N'ah"
"Yeah-hu"
"N'ah"
"Yeah-hu"
"Well, my daddy can beat your daddy up."
"N'ah"
Yeah-hu"

Is it 2008 yet?

4. What pisses me off is
Edited on Sat Mar-25-06 01:41 AM by JohnKleeb
that Bush comes on the TV and says I never said Iraq and Bin Laden was connected than Cheney equates withdrawing from Iraq to helping Bin Laden out. Fucking fuckers honestly, if they had goddamned focused on finishing hte job in Afghanstan instead of going on this crusade in Iraq then things would be a lot better in the world right now. I am not saying we should have ignored Saddam but done something like support opponents of the regime in Iraq, its not like that can't be done. Instead I thikn Bush wanted to finish his father's legacy and give himself and his father a good one, and now we got a fucking quagmire in Iraq because the administration was so damned stubborn.

5. they never took Afghanistan seriously
they refused to commit to certain missions which may have captured Bin Laden because it would have resulted in many deaths and that would have meant it would have been harder to get support for Iraq.

they really are disgusting. even now they aren't taking it seriously. it's all a PR thing for them.

6. Yeah seriously
I understand that Iraq under Hussein was a tyrannical hell hole but first things first the way they presented their case was blatantly dishonest, secondly how they've handled things after the fact, and third that we should have finished things up in Afghanstan first, its still not complete and as we've heard in the news lately its still a hell hole with that guy being sentanced to death for converting to christianity. I really do think a desire to entrench his own legacy and revive his fathers was a large part of why Bush went to war with Iraq. Kerry was quite bold to criticize how Tora Bora was handled. One of my professors last esmester didn't see the signifance of catching Bin Laden, I honestly dont see what isnt the signifiance, I really think it would increase morale in the Armed Forces.

8. i was hoping Cheney would sing Total Eclipse of the Heart
I think Simon would love it, he would do the Dan Band's version though because it has instead of "I need you now more htan ever". "I fucking need you now more than ever", PS I only know the name of that song because I spoofed at a graduation party.

12. What does it say when the Iraqis prefer Saddam to Bush/Cheney "freedom"?

Iraqis Sound Angry on Invasion Anniversary

Snip...

Salah Hashim, a 49-year-old businessman, said he yearned for the return of Saddam Hussein, the country's ousted dictator, given the violence that now envelops the country.

"I got nothing from this so-called liberation, just this cell phone and my satellite receiver. But I lost my three daughters," said Nawar Maarof, a 34-year-old taxi driver who said he had dreamed of becoming an accountant. "I have a feeling that my destiny is the same. Anyway, we're all dead."
