Response from McCain on Alito:

Strong bipartisan support? What BS!

1. Ah yes, I got one of those in the mail too
I can just hear it now from all the rubes: "Oh, McCain sends out LETTERS in the MAIL when you write him a letter! Isn't that McCain just a real servant of the people, listening to their concerns, responding to their pleas? We need more like him in office!"

:puke: :puke: :puke:

It was promptly deposited in the rubbish bin, needless to say.

3. Feingold always follows up with a regular-mail letter
Even if I only write him an email, I'll get a form letter back explaining his position on the subject I wrote about. The last one included both a letter and a copy of his formal two page statement on Alito.

I feel like saying "garsh, don't do to all that trouble for little me!"

4. I never get anything back from my Senators.
I e-mail and write and phone and I never get anything back. Methinks that is a bad thing. I am jealous of these letters.

I do get letters back from my State Rep:

Dear Tay:

I hope we can still be friends and that you will send me money. I could not vote for the bill that mandated the Morning After bill be stocked in all Massachusetts pharmacies because it seemed like a silly and unnecessary thing to do. If you start stocking morning-after pills, then of course, women will start buying them. If they are buying them, they are thinking about sex. I am a Catholic and don't want to do anything for women who think about sex. It's really icky.

Also, I could never vote for Gay Marriage. Those people think about sex too and it's icky. However, should any gay people ask me to vote for the morning-after pill, I would think about it. They can have it, because they don't need it. That would work out well for all concerned.

Have a nice day and send money please, because, after all, I am working for you.

My State Rep.

Sigh!

BTW, the morning-after pill legislation passed and the legislature refused to certify the referendum ballot on Gay Marriage. Some Dems just don't get it.

5. I've never gotten a letter from my Senators either
but we do get regular letters from our congressman. He is Republican, but one of the group that fought drilling in ANWR last time. Otherwise the letter is always on explation of why he is voting the wrong way.

But, I'd rather have good Senators who don't respond than bad ones who do. I wonder why mine and yours don't respond. (But your taller Senator sent holiday cards with his lovely wife and him on them. Does that help a little?

6. This is quite true
I just wanted to get e-mail or snail mail from them. I get fundraising letters from Teddy K. He tells me stuff that's going on and how I should send him money cuz that re-election bid against no opponent is a killer.

My taller Sen. did send out a form-letter on e-mail when I responded to something and sent e-mail to his office. It promised a more detailed response. Never got it. Was somewhat depressed by this as I thought it would be kind of cool to get an a-mail from that office. Oh well. They did vote the way I had asked, so, that is great.

2. I got similar crap from santorum
As is my habit, I double bag those and put them in the outside trash can so they don't stink up the rest of my garbage.
