Not too late to save ANWR
There is still time to fight this. The House votes on the budget this week, so you can still contact your representatives. And if all else fails, there are two boycotts underway to stop the drilling by targeting the oil companies who plan to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. NOT all oil companies are in favor of drilling in ANWR.

Please check out my ANWR page for free posters you can print, links and more information.

5. Thank you!
The shirt is cool.
I ordered a bumper sticker, too, for the kids' car (mine is at the three sticker limit).

11. GV...I wish I'd known. I'd have included a bumper sticker at the
same link so you wouldn't get charged a markup.

13. Thanks.
It was an impulse buy. I was about to check out, and realized the kids would like one.

:-)

It's really cool. I can't wait.

17. Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad you're happy with them.
They're printed in CA (that was fast)and I never see the products other than the ones I buy for myself. I'm happy to know they are doing a good job.

I do have the ANWR button.

2. 2005 Social Responsibility Ranking for Gas Stations
Thanks for posting this DD! I'm hanging this particular link right here because I've been wanting an update of this ever since Sierra Club published it in their magazine several years ago.

http://www.betterworldhandbook.com/gasoline.html

It's nice to know that Philly's local business (Sunoco) still gets the best rating.

Also worth noting is that Boxer's petition is addressed to the following as their companies are potential ANWR drillers:

* Mr. David O'Reilly, ChevronTexaco CEO
* Mr. James Mulva, ConocoPhillips CEO
* Mr. Jeroen van der Veer, Shell CEO
* Mr. John Browne, BP CEO
* Mr. Lee Raymond, ExxonMobil CEO

But the 2005 social responsibility link above does say that BP "withdrew" from ANWR Drilling Group.

This article at Investor's Business Daily (http://www.investors.com/breakingnews.asp?journalid=24846345&brk=1) claims Conoco Phillips also withdrew - but the article is from January 2005 so perhaps they're back in. Presumably Senator Boxer has current sources.

4. That's good news about BP and Conoco Phillips. I hope they aren't
back in. We just have to keep the pressue on them. Most people don't realize that some oil companies do listen to consumers. Their profits are obscene, but this does give consumers a bit of leverage over them. We don't have to buy gas from EXXON. We can choose Sunoco. (Good for them!)

Sen. Boxer's petition has been around for a while, but even if these companies have listened, it can't hurt to let them know people are still concerned.

7. Great stuff!
I gave up ExxonMobil in the 80s (both). I use BP and Hess, but I'll definitely switch to Sunoco.

It's so frustrating trying to be a responsible shopper.

Hess is the ONLY gas company that's blue!! http://www.buyblue.org/directory/31

12. It is very difficult. Hess has that MTBE problem and that is a huge
concern for NH, but they are a blue company. Can't make it too easy for us, can they?
