Wanted to share this: debate on failed policy in Iraq tomorrow:

Maybe Senator Kerry has something planned for this?

Open and Honest Debate on Iraq

If we are aware of our life..., our way of looking at things, we will know how to make peace right in the moment we are alive." Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist Monk

As people of faith and conscience - a people of peace - we know there must be a better way in Iraq. Yet, after three years and the death of more than 2,300 American soldiers in Iraq, Congress has yet to consider, debate and vote on alternatives to the President's bloody and rudderless path. Alternatives to the current "stay-the-course" policy - including those favored by most of our soldiers stationed in Iraq - have been ignored, and congressional leaders continue to refuse to allow a full and open debate where all options to the open-ended occupation of Iraq are considered and voted on.

On Wednesday, April 5, members of both parties in the House will go to the floor to sign House Resolution 543 calling for an immediate debate and vote on alternatives to the failed policy in Iraq. It is a measure designed to halt the rubber-stamping and to assume responsibility for seeking an alternative course of action. Please take a moment now to contact your representative urging his or her support for this resolution.

This happens Wednesday, so there is little time to lose. Let's hold our House accountable to the responsibility they have to represent us. Thank you, and blessings to you as we work together for peace.

1. Thanks!
There's also going to be a live webcast on Iraq and the media, I put it all together, with the Atrios' Kerry blurb, in one blog post. There's also a link to contact your Congressman to get them to sign on to this resolution, and the webcast will also have live chat. Looks to get a good week!

2. Nice work!
I am glad that Iraq is back on the table in a big way for discussion. It is the number one issue in the country and it needs to be brought to the forefront again.
