JK on This Week next week!
Edited on Sun Apr-16-06 09:36 AM by whometense
Something to do with the Saturday speech, no doubt.

Edited to add: did anyone else hear Evan Bayh back up Kerry's Iraq plan?

1. Cool about JK

I heard Bayh. He almost used Kerry's words, "dithered", and other words, but then he had a strange difference. He seems to want the deadline to be a "political", not a "military" deadline - so it was not for withdrawing troops. Bayh seems to want to have it both ways. He also was a more intellingent "Bush" on Iran, parroting Lugar's answer without adding anything to make it his - as Bush did in the 1st debate.

The other interesting thing was that Stephanopolis totally blew off Klein when he correctly questioned the power of the Iranian President. He brought the issue up at least twice and Stephanopolis threw a question, totally ignoring the point, to Will. It was like Klein was invisible and mute.

2. Oh shoot, I missed everything but the very end when Snuffy
congradulated Sen. Lugar for being voted one of the best Senators by Time Magazine. (I am so glad I dropped my subscription to Time two years ago.)

4. I realized that, I was just upset because I would of liked to hear
what Bayh had to say in regards to Kerry's plan. Perhaps, I wasn't clear enough in my post. I look forward to watching Senator Kerry next week.

5. We need to get the transcript - because I'm not sure what
he said is absolutely clear. The first few sentences, he was not only agreeing with Kerry, but almost repeating Kerry's words verbatim, but then he said the withdrawal of troops should be decided privately with the Iraqi government. (although the ultimatum is to get a government.) - so I think his acceptance of a deadline is different from Kerry.

8. According to the website, Bayh supports putting more pressure on
the Iraq's, but doesn't support a deadline. He thinks this boxes us in, believing more flexibility is necessary.

He also said he called for Rumsfeld's resignation two years ago. I can't find anything on this though. Two years ago, that seems so unlike Bayh.

Lugar says there is plenty of pressure on the Iraq's. I suppose this is why they feel no need to come together in agreement anytime soon.:sarcasm:

6. It should be a big Kerry weekend
I can hardly wait. This Saturday thing has me on the edge of my seat. Have we heard more about what he has planned? I'm dying to know.

7. Same here!
I'm trying to control my level of anticipation. I also would like to see a transcript of today's show with Bayh.
