3. It is sad
but it is also necessary to make their point clear. It is a very hard decision, to throw away those medals that they honorably deserved.

Just this morning my husband who served 20 years said he isn't patriotic anymore. I stopped him right there, I said they have stolen our flag, and now they want our patriotism, we say no way. I said those who try to take away the patriotism of those that have served are the most unpatriotic of all. I told him you care about all the veterans not just those who agree or disagree with you, that is a true patriot.

I hate what Bush and his chickenhawks are doing to this country, it is shameful and wrong.

4. You said the right thing.
If anything, these lunatics have made me more patriotic, just by trying to change what that word means. They have the White House, the Congress, the courts, and the press, and they want the English language, too.

5. Hey, Fedup -- have you ever seen that 9/11 mural in VB?
It's down Holland Road past Dam Neck where that Food Lion is. I was filling up gas today, and I looked over and saw that moving mural of the firemen hoisting the American flag up at Ground Zero.

And then I was filled with anger with how * has stolen what was everyone in America's moment on that horrible day. WE STOOD TOGETHER THAT DAY!! There really weren't any Democrats, Republicans, or Independents -- we just became one. And, not to be a jerk here, but those were BLUE STATES that were attacked. And yet THAT MAN spit on that image by using it to demand more unneccesary killings and tricking huge swaths of the population into it. And if you oppose the war in Iraq, you feel like the supporters don't even see you as caring about 9/11 victims or even being American at all.

Well, then I just decided to go back to that day and remember how it REALLY WAS, and how we DID stand by our CIC, because we so wanted him to succeed. We gave him SO MUCH, and he abused that trust and faith, and that is just unforgiveable. It makes me sad about that awful day all over again.

6. Don't need to see it there
I have the picture framed in my Den, along with plaques of my husband's awards during his service and his shadowbox which has the American flag which was flown over the capital bldg., all his medals and all his assignments on the fireplace. Funny, my husband also mentioned 9/11 this morning and said he gave Bush the chance to be a leader, instead he exploited it. My husband is very angry for what Bush has done to this country and to the military.
