2004 ELECTION STOLEN-Poll According To Viewers of All Networks Except Fox

May 11, 2006

Poll: 2004 Election Was Stolen; according to viewers of all news networks except Fox News
by Rob Kall

http://www.opednews.com

In the first poll of its kind, OpEdNews.com, in the second OpEdNews/Zogby People's poll has learned that except for viewers of right wing news show, Fox News, poll respondents believe that the 2004 presidential election was stolen.

......................

But let's look at the demographics on this question. Of the people who watch Fox news as their primary source of TV news, one half of one percent believe it was stolen and 99% believe it was legitimate. Among people who watched ANY other news source but FOX, more felt the election was stolen than legitimate. The numbers varied dramatically:

Here are the stats by network listed as first choice by respondent and whether the respondent thought the election was stolen or legitimate.

Network Stolen Legitimate
ABC 56% 32%
CBS 64% 31%
CNN 70% 24%
FOX .5% 99%
MSNBC 65% 24%
NBC 49% 43%
Other 56% 28%

2. Very interesting, I was wondering if I should trust this polling.
Why do you think people would take the position of the election being stolen now?

3. I have taken these types of polls
they are not like the everyday hackable polls found all over the internet. They ask many questions, and takes a good 5 minutes or more to complete.

I think with everything coming out on the corruption of this administration that people believe now, that anything is possible from this corrupt bunch, and the fact of what happened in 2000. I think many think that suppressing votes is a way of stealing an election. To bad that it is not enough to question the results legally.

6. If they allow suppression in all forms
I think they did steal it - they know there were registrations that didn't happen and I really really think the percent of people unwilling to wait 4 hours in the rain could be pretty high. (especially as many might have jobs or kids that absolutely would make staying imposible.

I don't think the polls are hackable, but they have statistical problems. The people who answer are more likely to be on the internet than the population as a whole and they self selected to do the poll. This is not a random sample of the population. I do believe those numbers for politically interested internet intensive people.

5. Diebold has been in the news a lot lately

PA, CA, and IA Require More E-Voting Security

The three states have mandated redundant security procedures for Diebold e-voting machines.

By Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Officials overseeing elections in three states have directed local authorities to take additional security measures with a popular type of electronic voting machine to prevent election fraud.

California, Iowa and Pennsylvania issued the voting directives in recent weeks after researchers discovered a feature that could allow someone to load unauthorized software on Diebold Election Systems computerized machines.

A hacker theoretically could use the software to rig or sabotage an election or to perform some other unauthorized function, said Michael Shamos, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

''It's worse than a hole,'' said Shamos, who has been briefed on the vulnerability of the Diebold machines. ''It's a deliberate feature that was added by Diebold that we all believe is unwise.''

9. I took this poll
Interesting questions, but this one was weird.
You could support censure for the war, support censure for spying, or oppose both.
You do not have an option of supporting censure for both the war and spying, though.
And the answers are worded strangely.

Do you support or oppose the censure of George Bush for either misleading us into war and or the use of NSA spying?

Support for the war
Support for the NSA spying
Oppose both
Not sure

The stolen election question was very clearly worded, though, as was the one regarding news channel you watch most often.

10. Good moment this morning....
Hub was watching Ken Silverstein on C-Span this morning... and cracked up, because Silverstein used a line similiar to the one hub used in the speech (May 2005) that got him fired...

Hub said that if people were going to watch Faux News, they should at least attempt to balance it by also watching the Peabody awarding winning news show called... The Daily Show.

LOL
