8. it's kind of an ongoing controversy, I guess

He had a story pulled by Salon because he was unable to verify what he'd reported. He got fired by the LA Times for threatening to beat up another reporter. A book he'd written got pulled by the publisher when one of the book's subjects threatened to sue.

Those are the main things I'm aware of.
