She mentioned her dad back in the early 60's--and he came back with " oh--Congressman Miller!"

Election fraud--"much of what they did was legal", "heighten the visibility in 2006 elections."

This is going to be a very important topic with the Left in the future--just what he did or did not do to "fight". That's all we hear around DU. We need ammo exactly like this to do battle.

18. JK was terrific this morning!
(What else did I expect?) He was so charming and funny :loveya: . I love how after the commercial break (after he left) they played "No Surrender" and Steph said she would add Senator Kerry to her future husband list, but was afraid that if she did Teresa would kick her ass. The only complaint I have is that the interview was too short. (Damn Senate! How dare they make him work.) Also, I know Whome was disappointed that they didn't play "He's so Fine". I think that sentiment was implied though. :)

I always knew those two would get along. I really, really, really loved the part at the end about filing a lawsuit on fraud if the Dems can get back control of one or both Houses of Congress. (Cuz then they will have subpeoan power and the ability to gather evidence that could be submitted to a court of law.)

Nice, fun, loose interview. Gezz, that loose tone with Staff, "Naw, we're not busy around here are we." Think I heard that before somewhere. That guy sounds wicked familiar.

36. Thanks, guys, for letting me know and the audio link!
We have very little lib talk radio here (just Ed Schultz, and I'm not sure if he's still on), so this is the only way I can listen to these interviews.

He was great, conversational, got his points in but kept it light (not the subject matter but his tone of voice).

Two interesting things to me:

He said there were two big lies of the 2004 campaign: the War and about him personally. I'd never heard him describe it like that. I liked that he said it was a big lie (SBVT). He needs to say that over and over again, and matter of factly the way he did today.

Election fraud -- I am feeling pretty vindicated by the details he gave, that they had no access to the machines (so no evidence) and that the voter suppression stuff the Republicans did was perfectly legal and could not be fought. Only way to fix things is to change the law. I just felt like he quite easily rebutted these whiny "he said he would count every vote and now I'll never trust him again" nonsense that happened within one millisecond of his conceding the election. Duh -- 120,000 votes down and no blatant red flags like 99% turnout rates at certain precincts. It was done. Nothing COULD be done. We have Diebold machines at my precinct, so I would like to see a paper trail to be created. Personally, I'd rather have optical scanners, but if not then treat it like an ATM machine and let us get a receipt. Simple accounting for crying out loud. That's where the energy should go into, and I thought Kerry was excellent on this point.

Overall, FABULOUS interview. He was a mixed bag in 2005 -- some good interviews, others not as good. But 2006 is another story -- he's nailing EVERY interview regardless of the format. So, like, what did you Boston folks say to him in December anyway? What the heck -- I'll give you guys at least some of the credit for this transformation, even if it may just be a coincidence!!

We have absolutely no progressive radio down here, so I just steam the Boston station. There are other stations of course, but I prefer this one. ;) Of course now I also know where the traffic jams in Boston are, and what the weather is like there.

Forgot to mention my other impediment to listening "live" -- my two little girls who somehow are REALLY loud so that I can't hear anything (you should see me in the car desperately trying to hear a few sentences from NPR, before they start demanding their own music). But if I get a little break, I'll be sure to go over there, and hear it.

Why beachmom, whatever do you mean? Our meeting with Sen. Kerry was just like that old Chris Farley skit from SNL, where Farley had a talk show and he would interview famous people and then not be able to say much cuz he was awestruck. Yeah, it was like that.

Hey Senator, do you remember when you did that thing at that political rally? Yeah, that was great! And then when they played 'No Surrender' and you pumped your fist in the air. Yeah, that was awesome. (Awkward silence.) Ahm, I think you're awesome. (We did that for 45 minutes or so.)

No? You don't believe me? You cut me to the quick woman. Ahm, we just talked. Whatever has 'gotten into him' since then is his own doing. We just talked. ;)

And I did call him 'honey' at one point. (I didn't mean to, it just slipped out.) Oh yeah, I'm sure that we changed his whole attitude on life with stuff like that. (LOL!) (After that, "Senator honey" and the "I forgot how tall he was" incident in Nashua, well, I'm not going to meet Sen. Kerry anymore. What's next, I start spilling stuff on 'em?)

Next time we have a DU JK Group KerryParty, I plan on inviting him to one of my world-famous tours of Boston. Senator, your house is just merely sort of old, it's not wicked old or anything, you know.

Btw gang, save your money. It really is nice in Boston in Dec. ;)

well, ahm, yes I did. I was talking about something, got sort of distracted, hard as that might be to believe, and then came back to my subject and inadvertently called the last Democratic Nominee for President of the United States and my Senator for the last 21 years, ahm, honey. or Senator, pause, honey, I can't remember which one it was. Not my best moment. Although that may depend on how you look at it.

The Senator comes home and thinks, "wow, those nice girls LOVE me, and one of them even called me HONEY. I think I'll just be myself more often, since that's what they told me to do". And the rest is history . . . .

Come on -- I think you should get .01% of the credit. Call it positive reenforcement.
