vs. the ones at the other blogs JK has posted at! I read every single one and it was so great to read intelligent commentary -- some of it challenging and urging the Senator toward particular action -- but none of it mindlessly abusive.

One question: Kerrygoddess, you mention in the comments that JK had posted there before. Can you point me to the other post? I don't know how I missed it!

Edited to add: Yes there is a major difference between the comments on the Dem Daily and the comments on Kos and HuffPo when JK posts there. We had two posts in the middle of night that were from whiners...

I dind't get a chance to post before, but I want to ask the Senator a question. I'll post it as soon as I get it together.

I am so glad he brought up the gang of 14 , he doeasn't like their antics either. I love that he signed off JK.

He said to support the vet candidates even if you supported someone else in the primaries. Was he sort of preparing us for a possible Webb win on June 13th? That we should support Webb if he's the Dem candidate for Senate?

but I think he was talking about those who already won their primaries. You know I will have a pinched nose if I have to vote for Webb.

Kerry in 2004. Interesting that an SBVT type outfit will now go after Webb. I'll bet you 1 million dollars, that if it comes to that, Kerry will TOTALLY defend Webb. He did meet with Webb a couple of days ago, but endorsed no one in the primary.

I cringe!

I thought Webb was arrogant and rude. and looked bad for him.

Apparently, he became unprofessional right after the taping when he was talking to the press, and told Miller to "shut his mouth". I did notice that he was slouching -- he had his leg straight out under the table. Harris Miller was actually the one to make the debate more combative, when he threw in why Webb had endorsed * and Allen in '00. Miller is quite agressive, even if he comes across as a nerdy accountant. Miller was at his best talking about getting Americans the skills they need to compete against the world (he was FAR more specific than Webb's extremely vague answers). The one thing Webb mentioned which piqued my interest was that his son was going to Ramadhi in September -- I have to admit, that would be interesting having a senator whose son was in harm's way in Iraq. He could shut up a lot of the wingers real quick real fast.

Anyway, don't let these positive comments get you worried. I'm still a committed Miller voter, but I've decided that if Webb wins the primary I will vote for him in the general (but not volunteer, no way), and will consider my vote to be for his son, who will already be in Iraq come November.

And, just to tap into my Virginia instincts -- we can probably look forward to seeing Barfbag at SFRC hearings come January. Mr. Football is a lot smoother than Webb or Miller, so I predict he will win comfortably.

:-) I was just telling my husband what a great writer he was, even while a young man.

It's also so cool to see so many Kerry supporters talking to him in such a civil way... even the ones that disagree aren't resorting to rant, but reason.
