I'd expect someone like him to make fun of everyone. The question is how badly he is bashing Kerry, and whether it is selective against Kerry or part of criticizing everyone.

2. Said bush* and kerry

were two bowls of sh*t. Then something else I don't recall, I was so pissed.
It was not a generic slam, it was pointed and ugly.
I've always liked Lewis, but I couldn't watch the rest of his show.

How can he even put them in the same category?
I don't know who this guy is, but he sounds pretty ignorant.
* and Kerry have only one thing in common, and that is that they are both US citizens.
That's it. You can't even say they are both men. Kerry is definitely a man, but * is the slime in the gutter on a downtown street. And that's worse than shit.

4. Doesn't sound good

If a comedian made fun of both candidates, that would be one thing. To call them both bowls of sh*t is a different matter. (Not seeing it in context obviously I can't say for sure, but this doesn't sound good).

Thanks for the warning, gv, I was thinking of watching that. Now I'll steer clear.

Lewis Black isn't really that political - he's more just pissed off about everything. But I hate when people do that - it's intellectually dishonest and lazy. Jon Stewart does it too sometimes, and I get angry with him for it as well.

He hates all politics. I'll watch it because I think he's really funny, generally. I'll just be prepared for that bit of stupidity while I watch. My husband has boxing on now, ugh.

8. as long as they present themselves as doing comedy

i usually don't have a problem with it. although i did have a problem with Leno whose jokes consisted mostly of right wing talking points against Kerry.

what i really have a problem with is when "news" reporters make snarky comments about Kerry and other Dems. like when CNN was reporting on Cheney's shooting the guy during hunting and they said "Kerry POSED with a rifle".
