More right wing windbaggery - historic, overwhelming bipartisan vote. Gag me. They can try to put a pretty ribbon on it if they like, but it's a BIG BLACK MARK against the liar.

We got the only Senatorial delegeation wherein both members voted no. Yeah us! (I am very proud today, I just feel good about this.)

This is very historic. Most votes against a SecState nominee ever in the history of the US. Wow! Way to stand up folks!

people Obama isn't necessarily the ENEMY now because he voted Aye.

I'm usually smarter then that, silly me.

I'm reading his book, and just like reading Brinkly's book and watching Going Up River, I decide I like the guy and I don't just turn on them when they do one thing I disagree with. That seems to be a trait some people think is inconsistent with being a Democrat.

Now I support Condi and am a warmonger.:eyes:

This is just the beginning of the 109th Congress. People will go back and forth on who is a traitor and who isn't so many times it will make your head spin. Doens't mean anything, as there are no elections coming up for awhile.

36. I think it broke some people's brains
That Feingold voted YES and Bayh voted NO. (That was fun to watch--am I evil?)

Don't worry about Obama. He can take care of himself. It's only a matter of time before he's on the right side of some vote, and some other DU "good guy" on the wrong side, and then the wailing and gnashing of teeth and threatening of primary challenges will commence in a different direction.

Unfortunately, one negative goes a lot further than a whole bunch of positives. The current celebration of Kerry for being on the right side of this one seems in some places to be appallingly grudging.

It's all Boxer's doing. She forced Kerry to have a spine, you know. Sigh...

The bad things about DU and DailyKos are the endless echo chamber. The good thing is that the lefty freepers tend to hang out there and therefore do less damage in the real world. :eyes:

BTW, I love the line about broken brains. :D

boy, did they earn it!!!

Does it strike anyone else how sullen and  the senate repugs are? Like big babies - they can't even handle a discussion, never mind a no vote. Was it always like this? I can't imagine it was.

And McCain. God. Did anyone hear his pro-Condi speech this morning? It's like he's the undead.

33. Skip McCain ("the other side is bitter over the election") but catch Reid.
Reid voted Aye but he gave a great speech defending the Senators who wanted to debate ("Shut up and vote isn't democracy"). I'm liking Harry.

41. I am so disappointed in McCain
I used to think that he was a good man, a man of honor. But he sorely disappointed me last year. Too bad. I guess the 'Straight Talk Express' got a flat somewhere. I wonder if McCain and Kerry are still best buds. I kinda think the bloom is off the rose for that friendship. Too bad. that was a truly great story.

Harry Reid :loveya: Now there is a man of honor. He stood up and defended the Dem members who spoke up in opposition. And he is a class act all the way. I think we genuinely have a 'Loyal Opposition' with this bright man at the helm in the Senate.

42. During a C-span forum over the weekend, Eleanor Clift and Evan Thomas
Edited on Wed Jan-26-05 10:24 PM by Pirate Smile
were talking about the Newsweek book on the election.

Eleanor talked about how JK had spoke to McCain about being VP and Sec. of Defense in 2003 (when he was way behind) and McCain didn't really say anything.

Later JK went back to McCain and pushed him hard to do this. He thought a unity ticket would be good for the country. The last Prez that did it was Lincoln. McCain said no and JK went off with a string of expletives about how could he do this after what they did to him in South Carolina.

McCain sold his soul to the devil (Bush).

I used to respect him but after how he acted during the election and his sore loser comments now, I'm disgusted too. The Republicans don't trust him and I don't think there is any way he will win the republican nomination (I sure hope not).

edit to add: The lack of any support for Kerry during the Swift Liar attacks (other then going after 527's) was also beneath him.

Sad. But no longer surprising. Once McCain allowed * to publicly embrace him, he'd officially sold his soul.
