This is very troubling news:

I think it's fine, but they should amend it to allow same-day registration as a compensation. Otherwise people who didn't know they had to bring their actual birth certificate to go and vote (!) won't be able to do it in time. Sometimes people don't have a copy, and have go to the courthouse and get a copy made (which usually costs something--that should be waived in the case of low-income people).

Leave it to my old home state, Arizona, to lead the way in troubling pseudo-reform.

This is why we need national standards, and a constitutional right to vote.

Why can't they just check the rolls properly? The fraud, IMHO, isn't coming from individual voters. It's coming from the back end. More obfuscating of the real issue, and of course objectors will be seen as not wanting election reform.

That's what really gets me about this anti-illegal crusade. It's Americans who are hiring these people. Then turn around and create a crisis so they don't have to take responsibility for the fact that they're here, without enough earnings to live on, because of American businesses in the first place. :crazy:

I don't think illegals should vote. I don't think most of them who come here, come here to vote. And if they wanted to, they could get false documents to do it anyway. I think it's just another phony issue to make it harder for the lower classes, people who move alot and lose documents, to vote.
